Project summary
Project name: RICA coffee shop
Project start date: 4th April 2020
Project end date: 4th June 2020
Project goal: The main goal of this project plan is the preparation of opening a coffee shop in
Phnom Penh area
Project location: Phnom Penh CBD
Project Need: The coffee shop is planned to be a nice place where friends and family, coworkers
and other professionals could meet for distressing. The shop is planned to offer all in one service
consisting of variety of books, arcade games and lots of vouchers and good discounts to attract
large customer base within Phnom Penh
Project description: The coffee shop is envisioned to suit all customers who want a new
experience of well blended high quality coffee. The shop is estimated to occupy about 40 square
feet with a well fitted sitting area with tables which is planned to host upto 50 customers. The
shop is also envisioned to provide free wifi, books and other arcade games.
Project budget: The estimated initial cost is 879180456.40 Cambodian riel
Success criteria: The project is deemed successful as the launch date is 4th June 2020 so as it
can be operational through summer.

Phnom Penh is traditionally a luxity of Cambodia and is quite famous for quality brewed coffee.
Thus the RICA coffee shop is planned to establish a frequently visited place in the city to meet
the demand of the locals for better quality coffee (Marchbanks & Owens, 2011). The shop is

start up. According to (Turner, 2016), about two thirds consume coffee or do make their
purchases in a coffee shop. Another report by (Too & Weaver, 2014) states that approximately
20% of those purchasers prefer coffee shops that offer unique products. The project research
team did further conduct research on the demand for coffee among different age groups with
focus on the youth and they did receive very positive feedback . The analysis of the research data
shows there are quite few coffee shops within the city. With such great opportunity, the RICA
coffee shop has been initialised.

The main goal of the project is to lease a premise and set up a coffee shop with the required
assets and decorations
1.4. Project objectives
The main objectives for RICA coffee shop during its first year of operation are :
● To get the rank of the best forum for websites and forums for foods and drinks
● To win the award of the best coffee shop in Phnom Penh
● To achieve profits as from the third month of its operations
● To maintain the profit margins 65% and above annually
