Project Overview
From the study of the case, we are able to analyse that difference in the thought and
requirement of the partners exists for the designing plan of the dream house construction
project. The focus should be given on highlighting the requirement of the partners separately
so that conflicts among them can be controlled. Requirement specification plan for the
undertaken project is required to specify the requirement regarding the design of the kitchen
floor, infrastructure, and interiors. It helps in developing the modern design of the project.
There is a conflict which exist with the partner is in relation to the project funds
arrangements. The purpose of this paper is to design the conflict management strategy for
minimizing conflicts with the project partners and builder. Adoption of the effective
leadership style and quality controls helps in minimizing impact of risks associated with the
project.
Planning of Conflict management strategy
Conflict among the working parties exists due to the differences in the perception, thoughts,
and views. Strategy is designed so that issues which exist with the partner and builder can be
resolved at top priority. It helps in conducting the project plan smoothly without any risks and
complexities in the completion of project development cycle (Haron, and et.al., 2014).
Emphasis should be given on identifying the root cause of the project plan. It helps in
negotiating the working operational plan so that chaotic environment can be controlled.
Conflict management strategy for partner
Partners are the integral part of the project cycle. It is required to manage collaboration
between the partners with respect to the project requirement, end outcome of the project,
funds approved for the project, and deadline for the delivery of the final project (Liberatore,
Johnson, and Smith, 2015). Agreement should be done between the managerial parties so that
conflict in the thinking and perception can be controlled. The conflict management strategy is
decomposed into five processes which are described below:
Accommodating: Behaviour of the project partners get changed due to the occurrence
of conflict because of the difference in thought, requirement, and financial capability.
It is required to develop the agreement on the project cost plan and financial budget so
that conflict related to the financial capabilities can be resolved (Lock. 2013). Project

activities can be scheduled within the given range of project funds so that no extra
pressure is made on the working team members. Checklist of the partners requirement
should be prepared so that effective design can be prepared for house, infrastructure,
interior, kitchen, flooring. The project plan will be approved after getting approval
from both the partners (Molwus, 2013).
Avoiding: Partners withdraw their thoughts and differences in the perception so that
conflicts among the working partners can be minimized. Efforts and requirement of
the partners are set in the project direction and goal. It is required to keep balance
between the need and demand of the project partners so that conflict can be
minimized at top priority (Moodley, Smith, and Preece, 2007).
Collaborating: Analysis of the root cause of distraction helps in managing the conflict
between them by inducing the collaboration and mutual understanding on the
requirement specification plan and cost estimation plan. Agreement is taken on the
design specification, funding specification, and time baseline of the project.
Compromising: Conflicts can be resolved by managing compromise between the
clients on their need and demand related to the house designing. Tracking of situation
is undergone so that differences can be minimized between them. Partners have to
compromise with the project plan developed for the successful completion of the
project (Morris, 2009).
Competing: Competing behaviour among the partners should be minimized so that
they can promote the ideas, thought, vision, and opinion of other partner and increases
the reliability of the project.
Conflict management strategy for Builder
Clear requirement specification plan provided by the clients helps in resolving conflict with
the builder because they can create their design of dream house according to the requirement
specified by the client so that satisfaction level can be achieved with the delivery of the final
product (Morris, 2013). Sometimes conflict with the builder arises due to the unclear project
funds, timeline, and requirement.
Accommodating: Designing of the clear requirement plan helps in giving emphasis on
the experience required of the builder for formulating the design and construct the
house in the modernized format to meet the need and demand of the client. General
terms and condition regarding the project budget, timeline, and quality should be
