Purpose:
Personal or Professional Development Plan is the formal mean which is adopted by an
individual so as to set out particular goals along with strategies and outcome of learning and
training. This is also considered to be the alignment with the professional program, which is
made in order to meet the requirements from the regulatory or the statutory bodies existing
around the continuous professional development process. Revalidation is done so as to retain
a practice license and stay on the professional register. This is done in order to demonstrate
the professional standing.
Development needs:
The development needs of the professional development plan include the following:
1. So as to emphasis upon the importance that the individuals are taking so as to lead their
careers, or at least be involved
2. Building of the Programme on the concept of The Four Stages of Careers
3. Developing of the programme based upon the competency
4. Balancing the need of short-term focus with the desire for long term “career path
concept”
5. Implementation of a system so as to make sure that the development plan is being
implemented
6. Putting a special emphasis upon the fact that the professional development process is
transparent

The various opportunities learnt from the professional development have been listed
below:
 Better leadership qualities.
 Better communication skills
 Better planning skills
 Time management qualities
 Risk management qualities
 Better negotiating qualities.
Action plan
The action plan for having a better professional growth includes the following:
 Attending certain professional development trainings and resources so as to support the
requirements that have been identified. Long training program needs to be attended so as
to have a tailored curriculum design that would be helping in development of the skills
and capabilities that are needed to fill the job opportunities in a project.
 The new projects along with the responsibilities should be explored so as to obtain
assistance in understanding projects of similar kind. This type of opportunities can be
used for development of new skills.
 Learning along with project development are associated with offering a variety of
workshops and seminars that would be helping in developing the works along with
gaining skills so as to tackle the technological aspects involved in a project.

Undertaking the development
By undertaking the action plan, it would become possible to plan the project in a
better way so as to finish the projects in time. Which is one of the core factors responsible for
professional development in the field of project management. Better planning would also be
helping in controlling the budget and scope of any project as well. All this in turn would be
helping in ensuring the quality of the project. Besides this the plan would also be helping in
becoming a good communicator as well. This is a very crucial factor for a success of a project
manager. This plan would also be helping a lot in understanding the various kind of risks
associated with a project so as to implement methods that would help in the elimination of
any kind of risks.
Recording the outcomes
The plan helped a lot in understanding the basic responsibilities that an individual
should have in order to achieve success in any kind f project. Adopting the plan heled a lot in
managing the project efficiently along with helping in understanding the basic qualities that
are needed so as to manage a project. The basic aspects of a project like time and budget can
be managed if an individual follows the action plan properly.
Evaluation and review:
The action plan helped me a lot in the development of my profession as a project
manager in the field of project management. This action plan helped me a lot in
understanding the projects that I undertake and what are the basic requirements of the project.
Besides this before starting any project I think of the future results which helps me in
formulating a better plan so as to complete any project within a specified time and budget.
While planning I also think of the risks that are likely to be faced by the project. This helps
me in developing of methodologies which would help in mitigation of any kind of risk if

occurs. This has helped me a lot in gaining experience so as to have future development. The
action worked very well and I am now capable of handling most of the projects by following
eth basic criteria’s mentioned in the action plan.
