Project Success or Failure:
The success and failure of the project depends on the management techniques which are
implemented for managing the flow of activities smoothly so that no events get clashed with
other events. The long term sustainability should be achieved by implementing the effective
project management schedule. The success and failure of the London Olympic game can be
measured by:
Long term sustainability strategic plan: The sustainability of the London Olympic game is
achieved by integrating the sustainable principles for combining the conceptualization,
bidding process, operational efficiency, and strategic planning (Monnappa, 2017). The
feasibility analysis helps in evaluating the effectiveness of the strategic plan for providing
effective services and facilities to the customers, providing effective seating arrangement,
managing effective flow of event organization, avoiding clashing of events, and many others.
Partnership with project sponsors: The public and private partnership is developed between
the public and private companies for sponsoring the London Olympic game. The project
sponsor should retain with the project till the completion of it so that flow of funds can be
effectively maintained.
Mitigation policies: The risks associated with undertaken Olympic game event should be
identified such as funding issues, financial risks, and social risks, event organization risks,
clashing of game event, political risks, legal risks, and many other during the initiation of the
project. The well-defined strategic plan should be developed so that effect risks mitigation
plan can be defined (Koskela, and Howell, 2014).
Monitoring and maintenance program: The effective monitoring and maintenance program
should be organized for managing the flow of events on the sports day of the London
Olympic game. The monitoring program helps in analysing the services and facilities
provided to the customers, identifying problems in seating arrangement, flow of sports game
and events, and others.
Public awareness: The promotion program is organized so that the public should be aware
about the list of events which are going to be organized on the day of the event. It helps in
taking active participation of the sports persons in different activities according to their
