Project Initiation Document/ Project Charter
The project charter or PID is a document prepared at the start of any project that is being
undertaken and details all the activities that are to be followed in a chronological order (Kerzner,
2019). PID details the complete life cycle of a project and the critical elements of a PID are;
Budget: Formulation of a budget helps in predetermining the potential costs that might be
incurred in the completion of the project and the different avenues on which the expenditure
needs to be made (Fernandes and et.al., 2018). For conducting a sports event for the QAHE
London where 10 HEIs will compete, there needs to be an appropriate budget allocation of the
£20000 that have been allotted for conducting sports event successfully.

Timescale: There is the time of one complete academic year for planning the sports event that is
to be held in the July- August of next academic year. The work can be started form the July of
this year and can be completed till June of next year. A complete year is an adequate time for the
project to be completed exhaustively where all aspects associated with sports event can be
adequately addressed.
