1. Project overview
The paper mainly focuses on development of Coca Cola plant in Namibia. It is found that
when Namibia Beverages urgently need additional area for production then a new crown store,
syrup room as well as the present warehouse area was extended by Aurecon. The structure of the
plant generally consists of steel columns with proper steel frames with roof covering as well as
side cladding. The extended area of production for the new bottled water lines and additional
area helps in solving the space problem which further helped the client for keeping up the
demand of the product in Namibia.
2. Project scope
Creating blueprint for the Coca Cola plant
Undertaking feasibility study
Construction must be undertaken on 2m of uncontrolled filling material
Excavating each column to around 2.5m
Construction of steel columns with proper steel frames
Chromadec roof covering
Undertaking the work of side cladding
Post project review and documentation
3. Project life cycle
The project life cycle is defined as the sequence of phases which a project generally goes
through from the initiation till the closure phase. It is found that that development of Coca Cola
plant in Namibia will be undertaken by executing four different phases which are listed below:

Initiation: In the starting phase, the project manager creates proper business case that
provides proper justification for the proposed project. In addition to this, the cost benefit
analysis was undertaken for analyzing financial feasibility of the project and then the
team members for the development of plant are hired (Steenkamp & Bekker, 2018).
Planning: The entire project for the project is documented that contains proper details
about the deliverables, requirements as well as information about the schedule of the
project (Jin et al., 2019). Additionally, the blueprint for the plant is created so that the
development of the project can be done accordingly.
Execution: In this particular phase, proper construction of 2m of uncontrolled filling
material is created. In addition to this, the other activities which are undertaken include
excavation of each column, Chromadec roof covering as well as undertaking the work of
side cladding (Chapman, 2019).
Closure: In the last phase, entire work is reviewed and signed off. After then proper
documentation is created that includes information about the project. Moreover, the
resources who are associated with the project are released.
4. Main sponsor of the project and their role
Coco Cola is the sponsor for developing the plant in Namibia. As a sponsor, the company
providing entire funding for the project and are mainly responsible for implementing as well as
maintaining proper quality control system. Moreover, they also help in managing day to day
work and further assists in promoting the entire project effectively.
