Task 1. System Development Methodology
1. Description of Waterfall Model: In waterfall model, all the phase must be completed
before starting of next phase and no overlapping of the project is done. This particular model is
considered as the early form of SDLC approach that are usually used in developing a software.
In the waterfall model all process are divided in to many different phases (Kerzner and Kerzner
2017). Any phases in a development process usually begins if the previous process is completed.
This particular model includes a sequential process of designing where the progress of the
project is seen to be downwards through different phases such as conception, Initiation, analysis
phase, designing phase, construction phase, testing phase, implementation phase and lastly
maintenance phase.
Description of Extreme Programming:
The Extreme programming is the most important framework of software development in
System development Life Cycle and this XP methodology is a part of agile methodology. This
methodology is used in improving the quality of software as well as is very much responsive to
the requirement of the customers. This particular model mainly recommends to take best
available practice that were used in previous program for developing a project with extreme
model.
XP is actually based on frequent iteration that are implemented by the user stories of the
developers. The user stories are actually simple as well as informal statements for the customers
about the functionalities that they need in the project (Joslin, R. and Müller 2016). This is a
conventional description that are done by the user who will use the system or the product. The
user stories that are used in XP are just the scenarios of the system and does not include the
