The topic of the project is “implementation of Near Field Communication (NFC)
device.
2. Rationale
2.1 Problem domain
It is found that in the absence of NFC devices, it is quite difficult to enable the new
applications as well as services quite easily. The retail business faces lot of challenges due to
absence of proper device through which they can be able to make proper transactions, can be
able to checkout lines, enhance customer satisfaction as well as for better communication
with the customers.
2.2 Purpose and justification
The implementation of NFC device will be able to resolve the challenges and issues
that the retail business faces. It is found that with the help of the NFC device, the retail
business will be able to make the procedure of transaction quite easy which further helps in
improving customer satisfaction. In addition to this, it is found that the use of NFC device
assists in improving sales, employee communication, reducing expenses as well as assists in
providing scalable security.
3. Sponsor or Supervisor recommendation
It is found that both the sponsor and project supervisor recommend that NFC device
implementation must be finished within the approved budget so that the project does not
faces any type of obstruction due to financial issues. In addition to this, it is quite necessary
to follow the project schedule so that the entire project gets accomplished within the timeline
that is estimated.

5. Conceptual or Theoretical Framework
According to Kim et al. (2015), Near Field Communication device is defined as a set

interface for existing devices with the help of a simple touch related interaction. It is found
that NFC assists in bridging the gaps that generally presents between the devices and
technologies for enabling new services as well as applications. It is stated by Lee et al. (2017)
that NFC is one of the technology that assists in providing the cell phones for easily
communicating with readers as well as smartcards as well as with the help of various NFC
enabled devices. It is found that NFC assists in providing benefit to the users for performing
safe as well as contactless transactions in order to make payment (Zharinov, Trifonova &
Gorin, 2014). The other benefits that are provided by NFC device are listed below:

but also lower expenses, reduces the need of staff and can be able to communicate properly
with the customers.
