(a) Definition of Methodology A methodology could be defined as a form of model, which are mainly used by project managers for the purpose of designing, planning of the entire project, implementation of the set ideas and thus achieve the objectives of the concerned project. The methodologies are helpful for project managers at each and every stage of the project that would start from initiation till the successful completion of the project. Project managers make use of the perfect project management methodologies for the successful delivery of the project within the proposed budget. There are different kinds of methodologies that are able to guide for the developing of the project. Proper use of these methodologies help in guiding within the context of the project (Turek & Werewka, 2016). (b) Role of Methodology within Project Management It is a vital task for a project manager in choosing the perfect methodologies of project management. The proper kind of methodology would play a major role in framing the plan of the project, performing the tasks in a diligent manner and delivering of the projects in a perfect manner irrespective of the project size (Joslin & Müller, 2015). The framework within the project methodology is very essential for defining the changes for the betterment of the project. The role of the methodology is also to provide an outline for the projects. 2. (a) Different Project Management Methodologies and Processes Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) –This methodology describes the theories and the various learning prospective related to project management, which includes the frameworks of practice. The methodology is a set of collection of the best form of practices within the project, processes, terminologies and some major form of guidelines that would be accepted as the standards of project management (Rose, 2013).

This is a form of methodology, which is primarily based on the critical processes within the projects that would assist within the effective form of management of processes within a concerned project. SDLC(Software Development Life Cycle)–It is also known as the Application DevelopmentLifeCycle.Thismethodologyisprimarilyusedwithinthesystemsof information, systems engineering and also within the various methodologies of software engineering. Waterfall– The Waterfall Model is also termed as linear-sequential model. Within this form of model, each of the phases should be terminated in a proper manner for the purpose of progressing on to the next phase of the project. Agile– This methodology is a combination of incremental and iterative process model. The methodology focusses on the satisfaction of customers with the aspect of faster delivery of projects within the proper time of delivery. (b) Comparison of Two Methodologies Similarities between Agile and Waterfall Model The Waterfall Model is able to divide the entire process within the projects into several small phases that would be completed serially. On the other hand, the Agile methodology proposes the process by which the progress on the development of the project would be proceeded within the project life cycle (Abrahamsson et al., 2017). Relation of the Methodologies with Project Life Cycle (PLC) ThemethodologyofAgilefollowstheiterativeprocessforthedevelopment procedure of the project. It does not focusses on the sequential based approach. There could be a vast number of requirements within the project development. The Agile methodology is able to grip the various form of changes within the project based on the development cases. The team of project development breaks the requirement into different phases or into smaller segments. This process helps in the easy testing of the smaller segments of the project and thus enhances an efficient experience of the project delivery (Burke, 2013). On the other hand, the Waterfall Methodology mainly focuses on the logical based progression for the purpose of project development. The developers who make use of the Waterfall model have to focus on the successful assessment of each phase of the project for successful progression to the next step of the project (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). This would help in minimizing the chances of errors within the project and it would also ensure about the proper form of delivery of outcomes of the project.
