(Bouygues Construction Australia. 2020). This Bouygues Construction trusts in constructing
the difference in all the sectors of business and sponsors value for the money, innovation and
quality with the intellectual engineered solutions.
2. Literature review
Agile in the benefits of Construction design
Agile is the process of developing the Construction solution containing the web
applications, applications of mobile and websites which is focused on providing consistently
also frequently the high quality Construction that are working perfectly whenever reducing
the project overhead also increasing the value of the business (Albuquerque, Torres and
Berssaneti 2020). The projects of IT are sometime complex demanding the clear

understanding of the goals, industry and challenges of the customer and the expectation of
this customer. For addressing this challenges also the opportunities, maximum projects of the
Construction development are turned to the approach of Agile.
The most general steps in the approach of Agile Construction development are as
follows:
i) Discovery.
ii) Product Backlog.
iii) Iterations.
iv) Continuation of the cycle.
The benefits to use the process of Agile for managing the projects of Construction
development are as follows:
i) Stakeholder Engagement
The Agile delivers several opportunities for the stakeholders also the team
commitment, formerly, in the time period also afterward of every Sprint (Paul and Eldhose
2019). By comprising client in each stage of the proposed project, the high degree of the
teamwork within this project team also the clients can be noticed which is provided additional
prospects for team to understand rightly the vision of the client (Demir and Theis 2016). To
deliver the operational Construction timely also frequently maximizes the trust of the
stakeholders in the ability of the team for delivering the high quality performing Construction
also inspires the team to be intensely involved in the proposed project.
ii) Transparency

4PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The approach of Agile delivers a distinct opportunity for the clients to involve all
through the proposed project from highlighting the features to the iteration planning also the
sessions of review to the regular builds of Construction that are contained new features.
Though, it is also required the clients to recognize that they are seen the work in evolution in
the altercation for the additional transparency advantage.
iii) Quick and Expectable Delivery
Using the time boxed, the static plan Sprints of the 1 to 4 weeks, the new and fresh
features are provided rapidly also frequently with the high level of the probability
(Tamošaitienė 2018). It is also delivered opportunity for releasing the Construction former
than scheduled if there are enough values of the business.
iv) Expectable Costs and the Schedule
Though every Sprint is the fixed time period, so the cost is expectable and also limited
to amount of the work which can perform by team in a fixed time schedule time box
(Albuquerque, Torres and Berssaneti 2020). By combining with estimates that are delivered
to client prior to every Sprint, client can more willingly understand estimated cost of the
every feature that can improve the decision making about priority of the features also the
necessity for the extra iterations.
v) Permits for the Change
Whenever team is required for staying concentrated on the delivering any agreed to
the subset of any features of the product in the time of every iteration, then there is the
opportunity for continuously improve also reprioritize the entire backlog of the product
(Martínez and López 2019). Changed or new items of backlog is planned for the following
iteration, also provided opportunity for introducing the changes between few weeks.

vi) Focuses on the Value of Business
By permitting client for determining priority of the features, total team is understood
the things that is most significant to the business of the client. After that, they can be
delivered the features which is provided the most value of the business.
vii) Focuses on Users
Generally, Agile is used the stories of user with the acceptance criteria that is business
focussed for defining the features of the product (Noori 2019). By concentrating features on
the necessities of the actual users, every feature is incrementally delivered the value, just not
the component of the IT. It is also delivered opportunity to the Construction of beta test after
every Sprint, collected the valuable feedback early in this proposed project also providing
ability for making changes following the requirements.
viii) Improves Quality
By dividing project into some manageable segments, the team of this project is
concentrated on the development, testing also the collaboration of the high quality product
(Gudienė et al. 2014). Similarly, by making the frequent builds also conducting the testing
also the reviews in the time of every iteration, the quality is upgraded by the finding and
fixing the defects rapidly and also recognizing the expectation incompatibilities timely.
Drawbacks of the Agile in Construction development:
Agile as a project management methodology has long been preferred for Construction
design projects for various benefits this methodology provides to organisation designing
complex Construction for their clients. However, there are various drawback and limitation
associated with this methodology and for successful application of this methodology
analysing this limitation is important.

6PROJECT MANAGEMENT
One of the main limitations of agile project management methodology is it provides
limited support while the team is working remotely.
In agile Construction design projects, it is required to co-ordinate the mutual efforts of
the team. In order to remove errors in Construction, it is required efforts from people who are
expert in this. Therefore, collaboration is of prime importance (Benedetto and Pajewski
2015). However, when a team works remotely it is not always easy to ensure perfect
coordination between team members there as various factors that affect this collaboration for
example difference in time zone issues in communication lack of access to important
documents and all of this issues affect collaboration between team members. Therefore while
applying agile methodology in Construction project it is important to ensure that the issues
are not only properly recognised but effective strategies are also implemented for mitigating
these issues as well.
When Construction projects are implemented in large scale it involves teams with a
large number of team members. In some projects, large agile teams consist of sub-teams of
Construction developers who need to work from various areas (Sojan and Ajayakumar 2019).
While solving problems each and every team member needs to collaborate on the project but
while the decision-making process is considered in a project only senior programmers and
Developers are included. Although as a principal promotes cross-functionality of project
teams But in actual project implementation the principal is not that easy to follow as it
required perfect coordination between each and every team member who is working on that
project.
In Agile project development success of a project depends on skill and knowledge of
team members and Furious team members works together each and everyone needs to ensure
that they are doing their jobs properly otherwise it will affect the overall quality of the project

7PROJECT MANAGEMENT
as well (Kashikar et al. 2016). Therefore in large Construction projects where a large number
of teams are involved implementing agile project management is complex and it requires
effective strategies to manage those teams for ensuring that design and implementation of
Construction are effective and efficient as well.
One of the main reasons for agile methodology is implemented is that it helps the
organisation in identifying client requirements and implementing requirements in designing
Construction. However, the main problem is that at each phase of the project client has to be
involved actively and their input for the project is of prime importance (Liu et al. 2014).
Therefore if the Client is not a proper Idea regarding what features want in their Construction
it becomes difficult in managing user requirements as requirements. Might change any face
of the project. Therefore it has to be ensured that the requirements of clients are properly
identified and verified throughout the project (Adut 2016). Otherwise, it needs to be changed
during the delivery of Construction and this will not only affect the quality of the project but
also increase the cost as it will require extra resources in implementing new requirements.
This is another challenging aspect of implementing project management methodology in
Construction design especially Construction that is of large scale and often implemented for
enterprise applications as well.
3. Critical Analysis
It have been seen that agile methodology is being used in the operational process. There have
been an increase in the acceptance of the technology. This process helps in performing proper
leveraging of the collaborating tools. Adapting agile development have been ensuring the fact
that there is a proper development of the better quality application (Tomek and Kalinichuk
2015). The main reason of using Agile technology is to increase the flexibility as well as
adaptability of the construction process. It have been found that there have been issues

8PROJECT MANAGEMENT
regarding the operational process of the waterfall model. In case of waterfall model, the entire
construction is seen as a whole and there lies the issue. In case of agile methodology, this
issue is eliminated as the entire process is broken down in digestible components and
developing the construction project have been performed with the help of regular user
involvement. As the entire projects gets performed in a manner that the adaption process gets
done in a proper manner. Hence in case some part of the process have not been working in a
proper manner, fixing the same gets easier. Agile process also helps the team members to
collaborate in a proper manner. This process ensures that there will be a proper assessment of
construction site iteratively (Demir and Theis 2016). Another major benefit that is considered
in the process is that it encourages the ongoing process that is to be considered. This section
ensures the fact that the process that is being performed is alterable at different sections. This
alteration process is considered to be an important process for any kind of app development
process. It have been seen that the construction is in need of constant update and agile
methodology is the method that satisfies the requirement of the construction based projects.
4. Recommendation
Some recommendation that can help the organization to create agile methodology best
for them which are as follows:
i) The employees need to be trained for total knowledge of the Agile.
ii) Teams are required to experiment with the working prototypes which can rapidly test
directly in market within short time periods.
5. Conclusions
Agile project management methodology has various benefits and drawbacks as well.
However in a Construction design project, one of the main issues is the integration of
consumer requirements with Construction design. In a Construction design project, it is often

9PROJECT MANAGEMENT
seen that the requirements of clients might be changed at any phase of the project. in Agile
methodology, projects are implemented iteration and after one iteration is completed then
only the next iteration is considered and therefore, any issues which are identified in an
iteration is first resolved and then the next iteration is initiated. Therefore, this methodology
is very popular in Construction design projects and often preferred by the organisation for
delivering quality Construction according to client requirements as well. However, to obtain
full benefits of this methodology it is recommended that drawbacks that have been analysed
in this context needs to be identified and proper strategies to be applied for mitigating those
issues. It will ensure that the design and implementation of project strategies are effective and
efficient as well.
