Scenario where Applicable: Consider your own organisation and the business environment
in UAE.
Task 1
1.1 Evaluate project management methods, models and underpinning theories
1. Select more than one project management methods, models and theory
For this specific project the company that is being nominated is Saifco Travel and tourism
LLC. The travel and tourism company offers throughout services for the consumers all over the
world. This is one of the leading tour operators in Dubai best known for their parallel consumer
services for inbound tours, desert safari, city tours and tourism services also.
Different project management methods, models and theories are available in the business
sectors that are widely followed by the head of the project organizations. This is mandatory for
the project managers to process any project and implement any project considering different
development aspects in terms of models and theories (Kendrick 2015). The three different
project implementation models adopted for this project are agile, waterfall and evaluation of
Critical Path Method (CPM). In order to implement this project the model and theory those
have been considered are elaborated in the below section.
2. Evaluate the Selected Project Management methods, models and theory
Waterfall method: Waterfall model is a type of sequential model which is used in the business
organizations for developing projects. Basically for developing software products the waterfall
models rather theory is used by the project managers (Martinelli and Milosevic 2016). This tour
and travel company uses a traditional ticket booking system which was interrupting the business
efficiency. In order to resolve the issues of traditional ticket booking system the company is
willing to develop an Information System (IS) to increase the business efficiency. The waterfall
model is comprises of five different phases starting with a requirements analysis phase and end
up with maintenance phase. The details of the phases are elaborated in the blow section:

Requirement analysis: Based on project details, project resources are to be allocated and all
necessary requirements should be gathered from the resources (Marcelino-Sadaba et al. 2014).
After collecting information a feasibility test is needed to make sure that the requirements are
valid for the project.
System design: After analyzing all the requirements the outline design for the system should be
prepared by the project manager. In addition to this, the other captures that should be considered
in this phase include hardware, software, functional and non functional requirements. The
document of the project s also designed in this phase.
Implementation: According to the created design the programs and codes should be prepared
by integrating the codes with unit testing (Spundak 2014).
System testing: After validation from the unit testing the system get prepared for the final
implementation. In this phase two other testing processes are done including integrated testing
and acceptance testing.
System deployment: The system is finally deployed in this phase.
System maintenance: For further success of the project proper maintenance planning should be
adopted by the project manager.
Agile method: The agile model is another incremental model that can also be used for the
successful implementation of Information System (IS). Through rapid cycle the incremental
model can be developed (Pinnington 2014). With small incremental model the design becomes
possible. In this process each of the small activity is being released with functional appreciation
and before final execution thorough testing are also being done by the heads.
It gives rapid consumer satisfaction with technical excellence and goof design outlines. Fr
changing the outline circumstances regular adoption of different factors is also required by the
project heads.
Evaluation of Critical Path Method: Projects can also be evaluated successfully by following
the phases of critical path method (CPM) that is comprises of check, act, plan and do. If all of
these phases are properly followed by the project team members and project managers then also
the project can be implemented successfully (Layton and Ostermiller 2017). In case of critical
path Method (CPM) a PERT chart is also designed by the project manage to provide a simple
schedule for the successful completion of the project. For increasing the overall business
efficiency application of this particular project management method is very much helpful.
1.2 Assess the value of project planning methods, individual plans and project management
processes for at least two different situation and types of business objectives.
1. Select at least two different Projects having different situation and business objectives
The two different projects selected for these particular sections are:
Implementation of Information System in Saifco Travel and tourism LLC
Reconstruction of the website for Istizada fashion
2. Assess the value of planning methods for the selected Projects

If the Implementation of Information System in Saifco Travel and tourism LLC project
is successfully implemented then the overall business efficiency of the company will
increase (Hornstein 2015)
Redesign and reconstruction of the Istizada website will help the company to grab more
consumers throughout the world.
3. Assess the value of individual plan for the selected Projects
In order to implement the Information System in Saifco Travel and tourism LLC
the values of the individual project plans are
Project goal
Project objectives
Project strength
Individual actions
On the other hand, the individual project plans developed for the selected project of Istizada
Fashion Company are:
Gathering feedback from the consumers throughout
Reassignment of some additional roles and responsibilities
Collecting progressive review from the regular intervals
4. Assess the value of project management processes for the selected Projects
1st Project: Regeneration and reconstruction of indoor stadium for Dubai recent Fitness
For this particular project the selected project process is comprises of 5 different phases such as
initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control and close phase. In the initiation phase the
ROI and feasibility calculation for the entire investment will be calculated (Pinnington 2014).
From the design background it is estimated that total 30 million will be needed for the successful
accomplishment of the project.
Project 2:
[Write the basic and Important elements of Project]
The type of the project elements may vary for different projects. However the most essential
elements nominated for this project include strategic planning, product development,
communication, resources and people (Serrador and Pinto 2015). If all of the above mentioned
elements are properly selected then the company will be able to gain measureable profit margin
and competitive advantages too. Therefore, it is their responsibility to adopt these elements
professionally to avoid overrunning cost and over allocated budget while implementing the
Information System for the company.
Assess the value of planning methods for the selected Projects
CPM is referred to as step by step process that defines both the critical and non critical tasks.
The timeframe oriented issues can be prevented and also the project complexities will also
decrease completely. The steps that are to be followed by the project manager of this project
include the following:
