1. Explanation of Corporate Social responsibility stance for the company
Nike is considered as one of the well-known brands in sports shoes as well as apparel
industry. It is found that recently the company has invested in Corporate Social responsibility as
well as in sustainability. The CSR based activities that are used by the company is considered as
one of the significant aspect that will be further helpful in improving the brand image.
According to the theory of Milton Friedman, the corporate social responsibility helps in
depicting the business people who are considered as the key players who generally hold
responsibility in order to maximize the profit of the organization (Grayson & Hodges, 2017). On
the other hand, the corporate social responsibility theory of Nike states that the organization is
not so successful for adopting the CSR policies however the company has generally managed to
rotate its image in the recent decade and has adopted Corporate social responsibilities as well as
the policies of sustainability. Due to the utilization of corporate social responsibility, the
organization is mainly committed to reduce the carbon footprint with the help of innovative
manufacturing. The organization also engages in developing new type of palette of sustainable
materials for inventing close loop products as well as to diverse the workplace that generally
becomes catalyst for innovation.
2. Explanation about the sustainability policy of the company
Nike is one of the biggest footwear as well as apparel manufacturing company in the
world. It is found that as every investor wishes to gain profit from the business for which
business sustainability strategy is very much necessary. It is found that Nike adopted umber of
sustainability policies for increasing the energy efficiency as well as for providing the facility of
reusing as well as recycling the products (Cohen, Eimicke & Miller, 2015). The main

commitment of the organization is to create extraordinary performance products for the athletes
while managing the natural limit of the business. The sustainable policies of the company is
mainly elaborated below:
Healthy chemistry: With the help of the policy, the organization wants to minimize the
impact of the various product ingredients throughout the entire life cycle.
Climate stability: It is found that the organization helps in providing proper leadership
towards the stability of the climate.
Water stewardship: It generally helps in borrowing water responsibly for returning it for
cleaning the communities (Lyon et al., 2018).
Closing the loop: With the help of this policy, the products are created for allowing the
materials to recover in order to reflect safe return to nature
Thriving communities: With the help of this policy, the organization helps in enabling
the stakeholders along with the entire value chain for meeting the needs and for fulfilling the
lives.
Game changers: It is quite necessary to educate the challenge for empowering the
athletes for joining the journey of sustainability.
3. Explanation about the major project that is undertaken by the company
Nike which is one of the corporate giant generally partnered with NASA, US
department of state as well as USAID in order to bring together the designers, specialist,
academics as well as manufacturers around the global challenge for successfully sourcing as well
as utilizing the sustainable materials (Borgen, 2019). The organization generally engages in

Brogan Project with the concept of delivering the clean water, energy as well as sanitation to the
poor communities with the combination of various sustainable development as well as carbon
credits. With the help of this project, clean water is distributed to more than 4.5 million people in
Kenya. Thus, it is analyzed that with the help of this project, Nike help the less advantaged
people around the globe.
