1. Introduction
The report mainly reflects on the improvement of health informatics system. It is found
that communication plan is created in this paper in order to engage the stakeholder for forming
effective collaboration within the project team. With the help of the communication plan, both
the internal as well as external project stakeholders generally involved for providing support for
improving the information system. It is found that the paper compares communication plan as
well as project management practices for reflecting their importance in improving the
information system. Moreover, the paper also provides proper justification on the proposed
communication plan that is mainly needed in order to involve the project stakeholders.
2. Report on the current communication plan
The present communication plan that is used in the case study helps in providing proper
information to the various stakeholders including the project managers on daily basis. The
implementation of information system for health informatics, it is found that proper
communication is required so that the project stakeholders can get information about the
progress of the project effectively and uses this information in order to progress successfully for
achieving project objectives [3]. In the present case study, it is analyzed that the project
managers generally communicate with the stakeholders so that each detail associated with the
project must be shared within the project team. It is identified that in the initial step, it is
necessary to develop proper communication plan in order to reflect the information about the
steps that are required to be taken for developing the information system [2]. With the help of the
communication plan, the project team can be able to know about the project status with proper
identification of the project stakeholders, groups as well as project audiences.

The case study of health informatics, reflects that the project team helps in developing the
communication plan that helps in avoiding the breakdown of communication and helps in
communicating smoothly. The communication which is provided showcases that the
communication plan is quite important as it assists in providing continuous information on the
status of the project [6]. It is found that the methods of communication that is used by the project
stakeholder mainly includes email, meeting, telephone as well as teleconferencing. The key
messages that are associated with communication are generally dependent on the status of the
project as well as on the project milestone. The main disadvantage of the communication plan
that is used in the case study reflects that the key stakeholders generally utilizes same
communication methods in order to share different types of key messages that are associated
with the project [7]. Moreover, in the present communication plan, it is analyzed that delay in the
entire project generally occurs due to slippage of schedule which is further associated with the
communication plan.
3. Communication plan assessment Vs project management practice
The communication plan generally outlines various strategies that are mainly utilized for
communicating the results that are associated with project evaluation. For properly developing
the information system for the health informatics, it is quite necessary for the healthcare
organization to properly prepare the communication plan [1]. The project communication plan
which is mainly documented reflects what type of communication is needed by the project
stakeholders such that they can be able to make proper decision.
Within this project management practices, it is identified that communication plays an
important role in proper execution of the project and therefore it is considered as one of the
critical success factors for the project [5]. Communication is mainly found as one of the

significant key factors that generally contributes within the success of the project. By utilizing
proper practice of project management, it is found that the project team is quite responsible is
helpful in gathering proper business processes along with the needs of the information system

information system that is mainly associated with Health informatics. In addition to this, it is
found that the project team are generally provided with monthly updates as well as updates
associated with ad hoc so that proper information is generally needed by the stakeholders of the
project.
4. Recommendations on communication plan
The communication plan that is needed to be implemented will be able to deliver the key
stakeholders about the status of the project. There are few recommendations that are generally
required to be provided for involving the project stakeholders in different sectors that are mainly
elaborated below:
Communication matrix: For managing the communication, it is quite important to
determine the external as well as internal stakeholders who are mainly associated with the
project. [3]. The communication matrix will be helpful in giving appropriate structure to the
document that the stakeholder generally requires as the matrix is generally helpful in determining
the stakeholder group, communicational requirements as well as anticipated free of
communication as well as different mode of communication.
Managing the communication plan: With the help of proper communication plan, the
project stakeholders can be able to get proper information associated with the project with

effective transparency. In addition to this, it is found that it is one of the critical components that
helps in elaborating the entire communication plan. Moreover, proper details regarding the
change management as well as the required proposed changes are generally entailed within the
communication plan.
Development of communication protocols: The communication protocol that is
associated with the project generally helps in creating staff committee and generally assists in
developing proper guidelines for mail communication as well as email [2]. In addition to this, it
further helps in evaluating the utilization of automated communication system for determining
efficiency as well as the impact of the customer service that further helps in improving the
facility of internal communication.
5. Justification on proposed communication plan recommendation
The communication plan that is mainly proposed for reaching to the goals is quite
effective as it will be helpful in making proper decisions for the project at the correct time. The
communication strategy that is mainly needed for properly determining as well as supporting the
expected outcomes of the project. Moreover, the communication matrix is one of the tool that is
mainly designed for pinpointing how the individual is properly communicating in order to
provide framework that helps in determining the goals of the communication.
6. Conclusion
It can be concluded from the entire paper that proper communication plan that is needed
in order to develop the information system for Health informatics will further helpful in
informing as well as building relationship with the project stakeholders. The communication
strategies are generally helpful in engaging the internal as well as external stakeholders within
