Project plan is the broader concept which come out via various planning process
in the organisation.
2). Key element of the project plan covers baseline and baseline management plans.
Baseline is the performance evaluation techniques which is used to measure the
capabilities of the company. On the other hands, baseline management plans are
used to measure the variances occurred during the performance of the company
and striving hard to eliminate such variances(Rosenau and Githens, 2011).

that thing can not be micromanage(Putnam and Myers, 2013). Although, there is
need to give them space so that they can not feel so busy while doing project.

So these are the tools by which Sainsbury plc can make project successful by applying above
mentioned techniques.
P.3 Production of work breakdown structure and Gantt chart:
It is very essential to break down the project into many parts so that such broken parts are easy to
understand for the project members to attain the their work with utmost accuracy. The Work
Breakdown Structure is the structure which assist in breaking the projects or the organisation.
This is done by which project can be easily understand to the project members so that company's
predetermined objectives could attained. Work breakdown structure is required to make the
product. As, work break down structures is required in the company where majority of the
projects are big. Sainsbury plc. exercises this structures to make the complex and lengthy
projects into simple one which can easily managed(Rosemann and vom Brocke, 2015). There are
also some points by which work break down structure is exercised as this assist in making the
project organisation, showing the regulate points and projects, assist in assigning accountabilities
of the project members, allowing for accurate prediction of cost. On the other part, Gantt chart is
nothing but just a graphical presentation of project. This is like a bar chart that elaborates the
starting and finalising dates of different components of a projects which includes resources and
taxes. Gantt chart is exercised in the project management planning. As, it is helpful in project

project manager in making project still on a track. Gantt chart helps in making the project
successful. Sainsbury is required to handle a huge number of activities and assure that the project
managers and their team are going to complete the project on time. If Sainsbury miss a deadline
then it could face the indirect effects on the remaining projects, and also burden on cost and
outcome. Therefore, it is important to see everything which is needed to completed and also
wants to understand when each task is needed to be finished(Meng, 2012).
PART.2
P.4 Small scale research through Qualitative and qualitative research methods:
In every organisation, adequate information is required for every aspect of the company.
Sainsbury plc. get to know the adequate information for making the betterment of the operation.
Small survey helps the company to extract relevant information for the company's need.
Basically, there are two ways to complete the the survey. Primary and secondary data are
required as per the need of the information in an organisation. The primary data is required when
there is a need to get the exact and accurate information. Primary data collection technique is
much expensive. As the information collected from the primary data is much accurate than the
secondary one. While secondary data is gathered from the journals, internet, books, and any
other institutions where huge data is kept(Storbacka, 2011). This is least expensive and not to
give the guarantee of accuracy. This is used in the company where there is need of general
information.
Apart from that, data gathered in the company are used via qualitative and quantitative
techniques. Quantitative research is related to the numbers and digits which are necessary to
make the quantitative research. With the help of numbers and digits company makes a graph or
chart. This is the way by which company would able to analyse the financial markets via so
many puzzled mathematical and statistical methods. On the other hand, qualitative research is
done to make the analysis which is subjective in nature and totally based on the unquantifiable
informational sources. This is broader than the quantitative techniques. Quantitative techniques
analysis is based on the numbers and digits that could get from the firm's financial statements.
However, both the research analytical techniques are crucial for measuring the firm performance
practices. Qualitative analysis helps to understand the Sainsbury plc. management and its skills

in the industry. However, consumers are the centre of attraction for the growth of the
organisation. So, Sainsbury is required to make the policy for the consumers benefits. Qualitative
assessment is required to assess the things and understand so that the business of the firm can
easily measured(vom Brocke and Sinnl, 2011).
PART.3
P.5 Assessment of research and data:
The research convened by the company is not always accurate if the company will work on the
irrelevant or useless data then, the analysis part will be useless for making any productive plans
in the company. Now there is need to gather the productive and accurate information so that the
data will be better analysed and that can contribute in making company's plan. This is also fact
that some sources of information are baseless and company need to check the information
reliability before going to apply in the company's strategy planning. Internet webpages can be
accessed by anyone and add any information on it and people believe in such information,
whoever use such kind of information, will definitely give the senseless analysis. So, it can be
used for the general analysis but for the specific analysis, company need to make sure that the
information gathered is certainly correct forb the interpretation purpose or not. Then, company
will need to react on it. There are two tools and techniques which could be exercised to assess
the research and data. Which are qualitative and quantitative assessment tools. Sainsbury plc
measures the data and research via qualitative techniques(Baiden and Price, 2011). As, this is an
important tool which is used during planning process that includes subjective assessment and
interpretation of the the data. Qualitative assessment is used to give the clear view about the
crucial issues which can lead to exposed in front of general public and firm's investors.
Qualitative assessment is also implemented to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the
company so that firm's strength can be detected and will lead to give the competitive advantages
and weaknesses can be overcome. With the help of qualitative data, firm can able to do the
content analysis. Such process is used for the categorisation of oral and behavioural data and
that could lead to use for the classification, summarisation and tabulation of data. Qualitative
analysis is centred for knowing how individual frame meaning of and experience of

environment. Basically, they are two ways by which company can analysed the data. Which are
mentioned hereunder:
1. Base stage or manifest stage: A detailed description of data. For example- this is
what exactly said, but there is no clarification on theories.
2. Broader stage or potential stage of assessment: there is requirements to do the
detailed assessment which must be related to the response.
As, concept analysis consists coding and segregating data which is also used in classification and
indexing. The main reason behind of content analysis is to make sense of data organised and
highlights the key purpose and purposes(Chang, Walters and Wills, 2013.).
P.6 Adequate recommendations as an outcome of research and data analysis:
Data assessment and analysis is required for responding the questionnaires through
understanding and interpretation of data. Company will need to check data analysis before going
to implement the plan or any strategy. This will give the company to make the better plan for it.
By doing data analysis, company is able to make an adequate plans that can help the company to
attain the objectives and goals in an adequate manner. It should be the duty and accountability of
the company to know the relevancy of the information so that they can used in the organisation.
The company need to take accurate informations so that the analysis could give the clear picture
of the organisation in front of public and company's stakeholders. Research analysis would also
assist in knowing the consumers perception and by knowing consumers perception, company
would react according to it(Mochal, 2017). With the help of data analysis, company would able
to get outcomes. Detecting issues and challenges, knowing the availability of the desired data
are covered in the analytical process. Data analysis is the outcome of raw data that is
implemented by the firm for the measurements or assessment. There is also need to know the
mode of communication which are going to be fantastic for answering the questionnaires.
Analysis could influence on the future development to the research survey process. As, data
analysis need the information from the managers, administrators or other personnel who have
direct control on the operational process. As a result of data analysis, company would get to
know the real positions and try to overcome the issues which can create hurdles in analysing the
data. Sainsbury plc. is a big company which immensely required data for analysis, as data will
show to the real picture and also give suggestion that, in which field company is growing and

where company need to make the investment so that company can lead over the competitors.
Company can also make the charity and donations to the needy people so that they can help in
upgrading the society. Company will have to make an adequate CSR policy so that they can
practice for the betterment of the community where it operates(Rosenau and Githens, 2011).
P7. Reflect on the value of undertaking research to meet stated objectives:
The ultimate objective of the firm is to satiate the need of the of potential consumers. The
managers main responsibility are to convene the market research so that they can identify the
consumers requirements. This is directly link to providing the learning and training outcomes to
the employees so that they would know the ultimate objectives of the company and striving hard
to attainment of that set objectives. As, some of the theories which are essential to develop the
efficiency and skills of the employees(Larson and Gray, 2011). The human resource department
is the centre player which improves the performance of the employees and tries to connect them
to get the company's set objectives. Learning and development programme will not only emerge
the growth of the company but also will develop skills in the employees. Training program will
assist in making the strategic plan for the company. The HR managers of the Sainsbury plc. are
directly providing the training to their employees as per their need and requirements. As, training
part elaborates the consistent process for gathering and assessing the information, which are
exercised in planning and providing an adequate directions to the members of the company.
Human Resource managers main functions are to recruit the most qualified employees and
providing them an adequate training so that they can enhance their skills and contribute in the
development of the organisation(Doherty, Ashurst and Peppard, 2012). Managers in the
company are the main persons whose centre responsibility is to fix the long term goals and
objectives of the company. In addition to this, it is the accountability of the managers to frame
plan as per the employees capabilities for getting their set goals and objectives. Managers have to
monitors and control all the employees so that they can only focus to their work and contribute to
the company in a better way.
