Project Management Plan for Improving Health, Safety and Environmental Condition for Storing Unleaded Petrol

The Western Australia government is looking forward to design a project plan for improving the health, safety and environmental condition for storing the unleaded petrol in the different capacity of tanks. The conditions of the tanks are not good for storing the ULP. The patching is required for resolving the leakages in the tanks. The purpose of this paper is to develop the implementation plan and management plan to manage the storage of the petrol successfully.

1. Project Overview:

2. Implementation Plan:
The implementation plan focuses on analysing the risks and uncertainty associated with the
project, development of the organization structure, and development of the stakeholder
engagement plan (PM4Dev, 2007).

Challenges in the implementation plan:
The challenges which comes forward in the development of the project repairing system for
improving the condition of the tanks:
 Identification of the leakages part in the tanks 1, 2, and 3
 Cleaning of the tank
 Rising level of pollution from highly flammable vapours
 Poor condition of health and safety standards
 Managing supply and demand of the resources at site location
 Managing chaos and conflicts among the working team due to the difference in
culture and languages (Wilson, 2012)
 Non-ethical behaviour at work site
 Resistance from the local people in undergoing the cleaning and painting of the tanks
4. Management Plan
The systematic approach should be undertaken for completion of the painting and repairing
of the tanks effectively. The proper management of the activities helps in minimizing the
level of risks and uncertainties associated with the project. The focus should be given on
analysing the critical factors of the developed project schedule so that overrunning of time
and cost can be effectively managed (Rauber, 2014). The quality standards and control policy
framework should be developed for managing the painting work at site location. The project
can be successfully completed by deploying the effective resource utilization plan.

Time Management Plan:

The focus should be given to the critical activities of the project to complete the repairing
program of the tank within the scheduled time of 91 days. The priority should be given to the
critical activities.

The cost Variation report helps in analysing that the project will be successfully completed
within the estimated cost.

5. Project Performance Evaluation
The success and failure of the project parameters can be judged by analysing the completion
of the project activities according to the scheduled and planned activities. The delay in the

completion of activities within the scheduled time of the Gantt chart marked as the project
failure (Passenheim, 2015). The performance of the project can be evaluated by analysing the

6. Project Closure
The project closure report helps in analysing the successful completion of the project within
the estimated time and cost boundaries. The handover of the repairing project of the tanks
