INTRODUCTION
This presentation is going to elaborate the requirements that need to complete and
manage a project. It is based on launching a new website by Power Motors, to provide the
accessibility to customers to get live videos about own car and how much time the company will
take more to repair it.

What is a Project
Project can have defined as a group activity, which is designed for attainment of a
specific desired outcome. In organisation, it is different than other routine operations because it
mainly focused on executing a new business objective, by framing effective strategies and plan
for entire implementation process. In this regard, Power Motors seeks to launch a new website,
where customers will get accessibility and information every time about own car's repairing
process, in visualise manner (live video) when they open online account. Thus, providing live
videos in such a way, will help in providing satisfaction to customers and getting high retention
of them as well. To successfully launch this website, respective company has given
responsibility to project management team to prepare necessary documents, needed for the same.
It includes costs, time and organisational strategy, that are required for execution of this project,
to achieve business goal.

Project Stakeholders
To conduct a project, it is essential for project managers to identify the stakeholders first,
who may have affected by the same. In context with present project, the main people of Power
Motors that are associated with this, include staff members, sponsors, team-members, customers,
web designers and marketing agencies. Hereby, project manager and team-members play main
role in conducting and implementing this project, for achievement of strategic goal of given
company. But for performing this task, they are working under supervision of operational
managers, so that website can be launched successfully, in desired way. Along with this, domain
administrators, graphic designers, search engine optimisers and IT team of Power Motors also
work as a collective group for delivering a wholesome experience to users, where they can see
live videos about how their cars are being repaired.

Organisational Structure Influence on Projects
As a project cannot be run in isolation, therefore, there are number of factors present that
influences it. For example – Human resources, organisational structure, technology, availability
of resources etc. Among these factors, structure of organisation affect the present outcomes in
high manner, that can be classified as –

Role of a project manager
Project-manager performs the main role in conducting a project, in planning, monitoring,
and scheduling entire activities. To make project on how to launch website and what benefits it
will provide, manager's role is to create a project team and design a proper structure that
classifies each role to meet strategic goal of Power Motors. As this website is directly link to
customer and it also affects other stakeholders, therefore, responsibility of project manager is to
manage the tension between their expectations. Along with this, for developing a holistic view of
present project, they have focused on four main areas – communication, human resource, risk
and procurement management. Under this process, skills of human resource will develop first, so
that they can contribute their efforts in running the company's website successfully. Similarly,
managers also concern on improvement in communication techniques, for developing proper
collaboration among team-members and other associated stakeholders, to manage their interest in
project. Thus, to conduct all such activities, project manager of respective company have put all
requirements on a standalone system, that help in planning day-to-day activities for launching the
website.

Project Life cycle
This part consists a collection of phases that are required for completing a project, where
a project based on launching a website includes following phases –
 Project Initiation – In designing a web successfully, project team of Power Motors will
gathered a proper information first. It involves purpose, goals, targeted audience and
content. Here, main purpose behind building new website is to provide timely
information to customers about their car repairing process; goal is to earn high
satisfaction and long-term retention; and audience that present mechanic will target is car
owners.
 Project Planning & Evaluation: After defining the main scope and purpose of present
project, under this stage, project manager will concern on how to execute the entire
activities, in a proper time-frame for successfully launching the website. Along with this,
they will also decide about resources like software that are needed for same, such as
Content Management System, WordPress and more. Therefore, for this purpose, different
roles and responsibilities will assigned to team-members to gather information about
requirement of technology, budget, resources and more,.
 Project execution- Logo of Power Motors, background colour, prototype designs and
more, will be concerned here at this stage of project, that are needed for developing a
project. In this regard, at this stage, project manager after planning the whole activities,
will describe manner under which they will be executed, in set period of time.
 Project Monitoring & Control – For ensuring success of project, manager will monitor
each and every activity, as well as make changes in completion of same, in case of
requirement, for quality assurance and meeting the desired output.
 Project Closure – It is the last phase of project, where all details will collect and finalise
which technology Power Motors need to use for launching and designing its website to
exceed customer satisfaction and then present in front of stakeholders for their approval.

Effective managing skills is the only key factors required to fulfil the project requirements
and make the business successful in right direction. Few of required skills are defined below that
can be helpful for mangers of Power Motors;
Innovate and maintain stability: Technology is the essential element of every business.
Managers of must have knowledge of tools and equipment which will be used in Power motors.
Vast picture of business: Managers must have capacity to foresight of a successful

of specific project in terms of achieving desired outcomes. \

The (CPM) Critical Path Method is a phase-by-phase procedure, process, or process for task
management of multiple activities that involve interactions. CPM is an effective management
method as it distinguishes essential and semi-critical activities for dispute avoidance and gaps.

website. This process mainly contains four major elements as quality, empowering cross

CCPM is the result of Eliyahu Goldratt's Technology of Limitations (TOC) for planning and
controlling output. To enhance process performance, TOC emphasizes on detecting and
resolving inefficiencies. Similarly, gaps are the subject of both the Strategic Chain.

Succession of project depends upon team collaboration and combined efforts of project
team. Here in case of website formation for customer’s team is formed as follows;
Project manager: This remain an authorised person who keep an eye on entire project.
Manager will play a supervisor role in order to evaluate the performance of leaders and peoples.
Manager will get the essential details form team leader regarding further resources required to
make the project complete.
Team leader: The manager brings attention to decisions which need to be done for team's
goals to be achieved, instead of telling people how to do it. Leader will assess the requirement of

remain directly connected with the project. As the website developers keep maximising the
strength for project organisers.

proper manner. In context of Power Motors, they are required to follow five stages of team
development which are explained further:
Forming stage – This can be known as an initial stage in which people are looking for an
effective as well as efficient leadership and authority that can manage work accordingly. It

Storming stages – The storing phase can be considered as the most critical & difficult one

procedures. However, it consist the phase when team members may disagree with team
objectives and create conflicts due to which it is required for Power Motors to overcome with
obstacles.
Norming stage – This includes the team stage when conflicts become sort out and unit
also begin to start among team. It includes to assign the individual roles of team members and a
kind of consensus take place around the leader along with improved performance of entire group

Performing stage – This can be described as a stable stage in which consensus and

Adjourning stage – The adjourning phase is final stage in which most of team objectives

The team meetings should be effective in order to discuss about mandatory criterion of
project and relevant risk factors along with avoiding issues to complete the same properly. It
includes number of ingredient to be considered by Power Motors in regards to conduct effective
meeting. However, it includes to have a meeting agenda with clear objectives and set an end time
along with sticking to it. Moreover, it consist designate a meeting leader, cut down on meetings,
cut down on attendees and create action items & accountability. Meanwhile, it involves the

Creating a Shared Vision
Sharing the vision and mission statement of project is the key objective of business and it
helps in addressing the project in well-defined order. The challenges must also have
communicated with the project team leaders. Bifurcating the burden frequently also remain
essential for team.
