I. PROJECT INITIATION BRIEF
Outline Business Case
Samsung is operating its business in different industry such as electronics,
construction, financial services, ship building & Aeronautics, Medical and Chemical,
Marketing, IT and Machinery Services and hospitality. At present financial performance of
Samsung is very strong by which it can easily diversify its business in new industry.
According to this, Samsung can start its business in printing. Samsung is operating its
business in print manufacturing such as print management, cloud management and digital
printer manufacturer, etc.
Market analysis of UK has reflected that designing and 3D printing is one of the
appropriate option for diversification of business of Samsung. Because, there are some
companies which offer these services to large companies. But, they are not focusing on small
business organizations and individual customers of UK. For example, Samsung cam provide
designing and 3D printing services to different small health care organizations for printing
medical equipment, etc. Samsung needs to target small business enterprises and individual
customers because big organizations can purchase 3D printers but small business firm and
individuals customers are not capable enough to purchase these equipment because of tight
budget. So, Samsung can offer designing and 3D printing services of small business firm.
