1. Discussion of the conflict management
1.1 Handing conflict with the partner
The partners are not agreeing on the design as well as layout of the dream house that
will be constructed and due to which the project manager who is undertaking the work of
construction generally faces difficulties in constructing the dream house. The conflict that
occurs is mainly associated with the luxury versus to the standard kitchen, flooring as well as
different types of electrical appliances. The conflict that is occurring within the partner needs
to be resolved with the help of proper conflict management strategy. The partners most utilize
collaboration conflict management strategy within the project due to which they generally
integrate different sets of ideas by different number of people (Einarsen et al., 2018). By
successfully collaborating, one can be able to find proper creative solution that will be
acceptable to both the partners as well as useful for the dream house. This is considered as the
appropriate conflict management strategy out of all the strategies as the collaborating style of
conflict management generally strives for making sure that both the partners are happy. It
generally needs proper as well as open discussion on all the challenges as well as concerns by
properly exploring the alternative solutions (Safeena & Velnampy, 2017). Furthermore, in
order to become successful both the collaborating style of the participants must be able to
properly face different types of concerns in a quite non-threatening way. For example, both
the partners mutually decided by utilizing collaboration conflict strategy in context to the
layout, luxury versus to the standard kitchen, flooring as well as different types of electrical
appliances which will be cost effective and at the same time helpful in fulfilling their basic
requirement by providing a beautiful look to their home.

1.2 Handling conflict with the builder
The delay in the discussion with the builder for getting proper cost estimation about
the project is creating conflict. It is found that the builder is asking the owners to properly
decide on the advantage of their current promotion that will end soon. It is necessary to
utilize proper conflict management strategy or approach for effectively resolving the conflicts
(Aqqad et al., 2019). Accommodating conflict management will be most appropriate for
resolving the conflict with the builder as the accommodating strategy generally entails in
giving the opposing side what they generally wants. The utilization of proper accommodation
generally occurs when one of the parties generally wishes for keeping the peace and generally
perceives the challenges (Helms & Oliver, 2015). It is necessary to utilize accommodation
strategy as one of the primary conflict management strategy for keeping proper track as well
as for the development of resentment. This particular strategy or approach is mainly required
to be utilized so that the builder can be able to work effectively on the project that is mainly
undertaken. For example, the partners generally focuses on on the advantage of current
promotion that will end soon and generally undertake the estimate costs properly so that the
builder can get the opportunity of working. Here, the partners utilizes accommodating
strategy in order to resolve the conflict that remains between the builder and the partners and
by utilizing this strategy the partners entails in giving the opposing side that is the builder
what they generally wants so that the construction work can be started.
2. Leadership style for managing the project to completion
Selection of best leadership style
According to Komives (2016), a leadership style is defined as one of the manner or
approach that helps in providing proper direction as well as implementation plans for
motivating people. It is found that in order to complete the work of the project from the

starting to the completion phase, democratic leadership style is mainly used. Democratic
style of leadership is also referred as participative leadership in which all the stakeholders or
the workers will provide their decision while undertaking the work of construction so that the
issues that they faces can be resolved effectively (Heifetz & Linsky, 2017).
Reason of selecting democratic style of leadership and its use in project with example
It is found that democratic style of leadership is mainly selected for completing the
construction of the dream house in Perth Australia. It is one of the most effective style that
generally follows the value of proper affirmation as well as collaboration among the
followers and as the construction work requires the engagement of various stakeholders
therefore one can consider democratic style as the most appropriate leadership style
(Glatthorn et al., 2018). With the help of this style of leadership, the project manager can be
able to share the decision that they made for the project team and also discuss various
problem solving responsibilities while for accomplishing the goal of the project quite
effectively. One of the major reasons of selecting this style off leadership is that it generally
helps in encouraging the project team who are associated with construction so that they can
be able to work effectively in the project and helps in providing creative solutions.
Example 1:
The team members are unable to share their views and at the initial stage they face a
lot of problems in discussing the problems that they face while construction. The higher
management utilizes democratic style of leadership and with the help of this particular style
of leadership, all the workers of the team are mainly given the opportunity of properly
participating, exchanging ideas as well as encouraging different types of discussion
(Robertson, 2016). As this procedure generally focuses on group equality as well as free flow
of the ideas though the leader of the group helps in providing proper guidance as well as

control to the team members This is considered as one of the most effective type that
generally leads to higher productivity, better contributions from various group members as
well as enhanced morale of the project group. Moreover, strong democratic leaders generally
inspires as well as trust each other and helps in taking decisions by following proper morale
and values.
Example 2:
The team members who are not ready to work after their shift for competing the
project on time, the project manager utilizes democratic style of leadership and arranges a
session with them for speaking about their issue and after discussion the team members feel
inspired for taking proper action and then generally contributes to the group. In addition to
this, the group members generally need to become much more involved as well as committed
towards the project by making them much more likely to generally care about the various and
results and outcomes of the project. As the project group members are very much encouraged
for sharing their thoughts as well as ideas therefore this style of leadership generally lead to
have proper ideas as well as much more creative solutions for the various issues (Johnson,
2017). Therefore, it is found that this particular style of leadership is appropriate for building
the dream house successfully from the kick-off phase to the closure phase of the project.
3. Seven quality control tools and techniques for managing the project
As quality is quite important feature for achieving success within the entire business.
In order to maintain proper quality within the construction of the dream house it is necessary
to utilize 7 quality control tools and techniques. The 7QC are the instruments which are
generally helpful in improving the process as well as quality of the product (Paltayian et al.,
2017). The various quality control tools and techniques are generally useful for properly
examining the entire procedure of product and help in determining various key issues and

generally help in providing solutions in order to avoid various types of issues. The various
quality control tools which are mainly utilized for controlling the quality of the project while
construction are mainly elaborated below:
Quality control tool 1: Cause and effect diagram
While constructing the dream house in Perth, the fishbone diagram is helpful in
properly organizing different types of ideas as well as understanding about the relationship
that exist between the cause as well as effect of the problem which creates a number of issues
in construction. This is done by effectively formatting, organizing as well as arranging the
various causes (Talib, Rahman & Qureshi, 2016). The issues including delay, inexperienced
team members, lack of communication and more are generally identified with the help of fish

this, the chart is also utilized by the project manager for making good communication with
the team that properly helps in describing the data in a very much simple way.
Quality control tool 3: Control charts
During the progress of the dream house construction, control charts are used as an
important tool that is mainly utilized for properly investigating the variation that is mainly
present in context to the estimated budget and time. The project manager also utilizes the
control charts for monitoring the entire procedure within the time limits so that the time and
cost variation that occurred during the process of construction can be identified (Lagrosen,
2017). Moreover, this control charts are used during the construction of the dream house so
that the partners can be able to understand the variation and how both the cost and time that is
estimated little but varies during the procedure of actual construction.
Quality control tool 4: Scatter diagram
This particular tool is mainly utilized during the construction phase of dream house
construction for visualizing the entire relationship that mainly exists within the two variables
or activities. This particular tool is used during the construction of the dream house so that
the relationship can be reflected properly. This is considered as one of the most important
method between the various non-linear methods. Moreover, the observation as well as
reading that is achieved from the project is very much straightforward and helps in executing

Quality control tool 6: Flowcharts
The flow chart that are used while construction are generally helpful in representing
the visual presentation of the entire process that further helps in illustrating the activities
which are complete and are present in sequence (Johnson, 2015). The flowcharts are utilized
by quality analyst for properly providing an effective visualization of the methodology that is
mainly utilized for properly managing the work of the project. Moreover, the flowchart
assists in properly displaying the project objectives and generally seeks much more logical
patterns for managing the activities of the project.
Quality control tool 7: Checklists
The main purpose of using the checklist is to properly summarizing as well as
depicting the count of occurrences which are completed in the project. Moreover, the entire
checklist is mainly utilized when the project users are very much interested in properly
counting the occurrences of the events that mainly causes defects or issues (Graafland &
Smid, 2016). The checklists are mainly used within the project. The issues or problems that
mainly occur during the construction of the project can be identified so that issues can be

managed quite effectively. The entire checklist generally helps in properly managing the
project that generally have the highest rate of the success.
4. Risk management strategy and explanation of the strategy for managing
risk
According to Carvalho and Rabechini (2015), risk management strategy generally
helps in providing proper structured as well as coherent approach in order to properly
determine, asses as well as managing different types of project risk. It generally helps in
building proper process for properly updating as well as reviewing the entire assessment that
is mainly based on the actions which are mainly taken. The various risk management
strategies that are used in the project are mainly elaborated below:
Identification of the risk: The risks that are associated with the project create a
number of challenges during the construction phase therefore the first step is to determine the
risks effectively so that the risks can be mitigated properly so that they does not create
negative impact on the project progress (Cagliano, Grimaldi & Rafele, 2015).
Analyze the risk: After the identification of the risk, one needs to properly analyze
the various potential effects of the project risk so that the impact that the risk will create on
the project can be effectively analyzed.
Evaluate the risk: It is needed to assign the ranking quality of the likelihood for each
of the risk outcomes. The risk analyst will generally be helpful in painting a proper picture of
the risks that generally threatens the project (Kaiser et al., 2015).
Treat the risk: After the evaluation of the risks, it is necessary to treat the risks
properly so that the risks can be effectively managed quite effectively. Risk treatment is one

modifying the risks effectively.
Monitor the risk: It is found that risk monitoring as well as control generally helps in

for properly reviewing the project risk for monitoring as well as reporting different types of
changes.
