1. Project Preliminaries Description
The AusED Inc. is an online private organization which is capable of providing online
education to students living all over the world. The student can select online course according
to their requirement. The organization is capable of providing online education program,
undergraduate and post graduate courses, and others. The students can gain specialization in
area of networking, database management, and application development. The enterprise is
divided into three divisions which are classified as sales, operations, and course delivery. The
sales division focuses on deploying marketing operations for the sales of course program. The
course delivery division is responsible for managing course material to the students,
education administration system, and teaching assessment plan. The organization also
provides special study centres for the students such as work stations, student supporting staff
for enquiries, facilities of photocopying and printing, facilities of video conferencing, tutorial
groups, and connection of student devices to the AusED organization through the wireless
networking connectivity, Social Network connectivity between student and staff, and
organization of presentation areas.
2. Purpose
The owner of the company is looking forward to design a new and advanced system for the
organization to manage effective communication and flow of information between students
and organization.
3. Problem Domain
The existing working structure of the enterprise is composed of accounting system based on
MYOB software, the open source software named as Sugar CRM software for maintaining
effective relationship with students, and Microsoft exchange server 2007 for managing
exchange of e-mails. The organization requires new system for student management system
and providing effective improvement plan. It is difficult for managing the centralization flow
of control between various units of the organization (Nedeva, 2014). The organization is
facing problem in handling centralized control in providing different facilities and operations
to the students such as work stations, student supporting staff for enquiries, facilities of
photocopying and printing, facilities of video conferencing, tutorial groups, and connection of
student devices to the AusED organization through the wireless networking connectivity,

Social Network connectivity between student and staff, and organization of presentation
areas. The organization wants to develop a new technological environment for the enterprise
which is composed of Off-line Moodle and photo-exam to provide security policies to the
students.
4. Project Scope:
The scope of the project is to design a new technological plan for providing effective and
centralised control over the various facilities provided to the students (Gogan, Sirbu, and
Draghici, 2014). The following table shows the in-scope and out-of scope activities.

 Data integrity and accuracy
 Reliability of data and information
 Availability of the information and internet connectivity
 Confidentiality of the student information and photographs
 Minimising the cost of operations
 24*7 hours student support system for providing instant response to the request raised
by them
 Effective management of online resources among the participating students.
Out-of-scope activities
× Maintenance program of the newly designed model
× Skills and expertise of the supporting staff
× Training and development program for the teachers and other staff members
Assumptions
 Skills and expertise teachers and staff members
 Facilities of high speed broad band connectivity
 Accuracy in the data stored in the database
Constraints
 The project should be completed within the approved budget for the project
 The project should be completed within the prescribed time for delivery of the project
5. System Design
The Moodle programming helps in developing effective client server system for managing
work stations, student supporting staff for enquiries, facilities of photocopying and printing,
facilities of video conferencing, tutorial groups, and connection of student devices to the
AusED organization through the wireless networking connectivity, Social Network
connectivity between student and staff, and organization of presentation areas (Jin, 2017).
The development of the Off-line Moodle program helps in effectively managed the
complexities of the traditional working system. It helps in developing a centralised system
managing flow of information between the students and the admin in relation to the selection
of courses, arranging work station, and inclusion of web-cameras for the photography of the
student performance during the exam paper. The reliable time-stamping helps in secure
transmission of the information over the network. The confidentiality, integrity, accuracy,

availability, and reliability of the information can be effectively managed with the help of
time-stamping protocols which are used for secure transmission of the information in the
distance learning program. The hi-speed internet connectivity should be used for managing
connection between the student and the teachers for gaining knowledge.

The proposed system design architecture is a new technological environment for the
enterprise which is composed of Off-line Moodle and photo-exam to provide security policies
to the students (Singh, 2016). The system design framework is required for managing the
database for the registration and enrolment of the students, selection of the coursework,

managing chat room, authorisation and authentication for secure transmission of information,
effective resource management portal, and others. The application can run on different
operating system such as windows, Apple, Linux, Unix, and other (Ferse, and Breiter, 2014).
The multiple databases are used for storing the data such as access, and MySQL (Jonhnson,
Cowie, Lange, Khoo, 2011). The following diagram shows the system framework for
managing Moodle software in the distance learning program:

8. Justification
The deployment of the Hadoop file structure is advantageous for managing the big data
generated by the Moodle e-learning software (Kumar, Gankotiya, and Dutta, 2014). The

management of big data helps in retrieving the information of the students as per the
requirement (Shrivastava, Jain, Sachan, 2013). The Hadoop file structure is used for
eliminating the limitation of the physical devices because it is based on dynamic storing of
the data into the database. It helps in expanding the scalability of the distance learning
program (Yang, and Lu, 2014). The performance of the students can be effectively judged
with the inclusion of web cameras during the examination hour of the student. It helps in
keeping watch on the student by the instructor during the exam so that he may not use any
illegal methods for completing his paper. The security mechanism should be used for
preserving the identity of the students who are photographed during their exam paper (Delta,
2014). The cryptographic procedures and encryption techniques should be used for
maintaining the confidentiality of data.

10. Sustainable global economy and Environmental Responsibilities
The development of distance learning program helps the students submit their coursework
directly on the system helps in reducing the use of paper which reflects the green IT solution
(Singh, 2016). The inclusion of big data management through Hadoop file structure helps in
reducing the e-waste which accumulates on the internet. The replication of the files get
eliminated which helps in reducing the size of the data storage (Ren, Li, and Wu, 2013). The
map-reduce technique is used for reducing the size of the big data stored on the Hadoop file
structure. The imparting of knowledge to the distant students helps in increasing the
knowledge and expertise by providing the simulation training to them. It helps in increasing
the global economy of the nations.
11. Conclusion
It can be concluded that the development of the Moodle in the project of distance learning
program is helpful for managing effective relationship with the students. The performance of
the students can be effectively judged with the inclusion of web cameras during the
examination hour of the student. It helps in keeping watch on the student by the instructor
during the exam so that he may not use any illegal methods for completing their paper. The
application can run on different operating system such as windows, Apple, Linux, Unix, and
other. The installation of the offline Moodle software and inclusion of On-board camera
during exams helps in resolving the complexities associated with the working model of the
enterprise.
