INTRODUCTION
Project management is termed as the application of methods, processes, knowledge as
well as experience to attain particular project objective as per the project acceptance criteria. In
addition to this, it is the procedure of leading the work of a team or group to attain objectives and
fulfil criteria at specified time period. For the present report, the project management of East&
Nord llP is taken into consideration. The company headquarter in Rainham, England and provide
services such as ambient storage, distribution storage and so on. The report will cover the
application of theoretical framework & methodologies in a project environment. In addition to
this, a project management plan is developed along with the measures to monitor and control
project quality, risk, change & configuration. Moreover, evaluation of project failure and success
is elaborated in the report.
MAIN BODY
Characteristics and role of project manager
Project: A project is basically a series of task which require to be finished in order to gain
positive and specific outcome. In addition to this, a project can also be referred as set of inputs as
well as output needed to attain objectives timely.
Role of project manager: Project manager are mainly responsible for effective planning,
organising as well as directing for the completion of particular project considering budget, time
and scope as well (Akkermans and et. al., 2020). In addition to this, project managers have the
potential to shape a company's trajectory, decline cost, raise revenue, enhance company
efficiencies and so on.
Analysing and managing project risk: The project manager is tasked with the
responsibility of predicting risks related to the project and ensure that such risks are always low
in comparison to the benefits provided by the project. The manager needs take measures which
avoid such risks and prevent the project from failure (Virine and Trumper, 2016).
Cost estimating and developing the budget: Developing costs and expenditure related
to the project is a necessary task taken up by the project manager. Forming budget which
provided maximum profitability to the firm by optimum utilisation of financial resources is vital
to the success of the project. The manager also ensures that actual expenditure of the project does
not deviate from this budget to receive high rewards.

Quality management: This activity revolves around reviewing every phase of the
project to ensure presence of superior quality outcome . Monitoring every aspect of the project
with the aim of producing timely results without decline in quality is an essential role of the
project manager.
Constructing organised and motivated team: This task of the project manager involves
constructing detailed guidelines and strategies for their teams so that they reach their highest
potential. This assist in completion of the project without any interruptions as each team member
understands their daily activities and end goal of the project (Shontz, 2016).
Application of theoretical framework and methodologies in project environment
Various project methodologies are used by project managers to meet the project
requirements with a limited budget and predetermined timeline. These project methodologies
help the firm complete their projects as quickly as possible and without decline in quality.

PRINCE2
This is a globally used project management methodology with the British government
primarily has selected this methodology as standard for project management. The full form of
this methodology is Project in controlled environments and it revolves around organising and
controlling every aspect of their project from beginning to end. Every phase of the project is
structured with attention to every little detail so that every part of the project reaches a satisfying
conclusion. The main principles followed by this approach include formation of a target
customer base practical objectives and elaborate evaluation of cost incurred (Sreedharan and
Sunder, 2018). Delivery of superior quality project is another principle followed in this
methodology.
Utilisation of this methodology offer various benefits such as risk amassment which helps
the firm formulate a viable business objective related to this project. This methodology will help
East&Nord llp face various barriers forecasting challenges related to the project and build a plan
which keeps risks and costs below project rewards. This methodology focuses on management
by exception where each employee across the chain of command gains some independence from
their supervisors as they have to contact them during unexpected circumstances (Dykstra, 2018).
