Introduction
The Eiffel Tower is a long tower, which is initially made of wrought iron and located
at the heart of the Paris, France. The tower has been named as after the engineer named
Gustave Eiffel (Castellaro et al. 2016). The engineer was the designer in the company which
is responsible for constructing the tower. The process of construction was initiated in the year
of 1887 and was completed within the year of 1889.
The following report would be discussing about the various aspect of the project that
have been conducted while constructing the tower. The report would be discussing about the
facts that went well while building the tower, things which meant wrong and how it could
have been better form the perspective of a project manager.
Main Body (things that went right)
The initial design of the tower was attributed with help of two engineers working for
the company responsible for the design and the construction of the tower (Castellaro et al.
2017). The construction of the tower was considered to be one of the engineering marvel of
the century. The tower have been made with the use of puddled iron, which in-fact have high
tensile strength and weighs less than stones. The total weight of the tower us estimated to be
7300 tons, which is quite low compared to the immense height of the tower and the amount
of meat work that have been used for constructing the tower (Raspaldo, 2016). The building
of the tower has been done with precise cautions and great amount of calculation, taking in
consideration of small impacts of each and every amount of load that could possibly generate
an effect on the tower. The foundation of the building was initially started in the year of
1887. With the help of experienced engineers, complex work of the design of the tower have
been started (Larson, 2017). The construction of the tower provided job for many under-
privileged workers and contractors. It have been involving the many firm based on the

country itself. Materials from around the world have been used in the process of construction
of the tower.
In essence to that, the company which was responsible for the designing and
construction of the building started to get acknowledged around the globe. It was also
responsible for turning the country in to a more famous tourist spot (Tawfik et al. 2017).
During the construction of the tower, many safety measures were taken which proved
the concern of the engineers while building the tower. Proper care of the workers were taken
so that no life threatening events does not occur (Weissgerber & Nicolas, 2016). People of
the country was also enthusiastic for the building of the tower. The tower have been the
center of attraction for many people to visit the city.
Analysis and current situation (things that went wrong)
After the proposal of the tower, there have been many objections and protests from
variety of artist around the country. The proposal of the tower have been a major subject of
controversies around the country. Artist made many criticism regarding the building of the
tower (Lemoine, 2018). The controversies were drawn from the people that believed that the
construction of the tower was not feasible and people who objected on the grounds of artistic
background. Some people found it hard to believe that such tall building could ever be
created, because prior to Eiffel tower, no such building with a height of 300 meter tall was
constructed. These kind of debate was long standing differences of the fact of debate which
existed among the people about the relationship between engineering and architecture. The
artistic criticism had set certain approaches to the people about the effects and after effects of
the tower being constructed (Bush, 2019). While replying to the fact were designer Gustave
Eiffel exclaimed how the tower would be taller than the pyramids, people also took it as an
object to criticize and artist used the fact to portrait their criticism in an artistic way.

Newspaper article were drawn based on the criticism of the artist which made some valid
point about the construction of the tower and how it cannot be sustainable. Protestor have
claimed about the ugliness of the tower how Gautave Eiffel, being a machine designer would
be making a monument, which would be a symbol of the cultural impact of the city, in fact,
representing the whole country. Therefore, these kinds went wrong while the construction of
the tower (Bush, 2019).
Improvement Suggestions
After the construction of the tower, people from around the world have been visiting
the city for witnessing one of the wonders of the world. It could be estimated that the total
amount of people visiting the tower is more than 7 million yearly. Therefore, the authorities
of the tower have been generating a huge amount of revenue from the visitors of the country.
Therefore, as being the project manager of the tower, there could be certain changes which
could be added in the tower. There could be some changes regarding the height of the tower
and the design of the tower. The height of the tower could be increased as well as the design
of the tower could be made much vibrant. The design of the tower could be made more
attractive which could attract more visitors.
Conclusion
Therefore, the report concluded by providing a brief analysis of issues related to the
construction of Eiffel Tower. The report have provided a brief overview of the aspects that
have went well while the construction of the tower and the aspects that did not went well
during the construction of the tower. Finally, the report have provided a brief suggestion how
being a project manager, the tower could be changed.
