An overview of project idea. This project plan has been developed on the topic workplace discrimination and its influence over employees’performance. Workplace discrimination is day by day increasing across the world which is ultimately placing influence over the growth of the company in negative manner as its employees are not putting 100% efforts in their work. This ultimately affects organisational growth as employees are less productive. For this project, TESCO has been taken into consideration. Project aims and objectives Research Aim: “To ascertain the influence of workplace discrimination on employees performance of large scale company” A secondary research onTESCO. Research Objectives Todevelop understanding on the concept of workplace discrimination. To determine several factors this influencesperformance of employees in TESCO. To find out relationship between workplace discrimination and performance of TESCO’s employees. Problem Statement Workplace discrimination is increasing day by day which influences performance of employees negatively and also develops consciousness of businesses like TESCO to address them effectively and accomplish proposed organisational goals. Related literature and secondary data Literature review Concept of workplace discrimination On the basis of views expressed byLandy and Conte, (2016),Workplace discrimination is considered to be unethical behaviour towards to employees in which they are treated badly. If an organization is suffering from discrimination than it is not good for their brand image. This type of discrimination can be seen in many forms such as religion, race, caste, age, national origin, disability, gender, parenthood etc. It can be said that if an one of these discriminations has been executed at workplace then it simply affects their business performance. Several factors this influences performance of employees in TESCO As per thethought expressed byCostanza and Finkelstein, (2015)., it has been seen that there are lots of factors such asOrganizational Culture,Communication,Recognition, social environment and others are considered as the main factors that influences employees performance. It can be further said that all of them plays essential role on the employees working capability and if they misses these factors then it won’t be possible for them to perform well and accomplish their predetermined goals and objectives in quicker manner. RelationshipbetweenworkplacediscriminationandperformanceofTESCO’s employees According tothe opinion ofClark, (2017), there is inversely proportional relationship between workplace discrimination and performance of employees. It can be said that if workplace discrimination at workplace increases then it directly influences employees behaviour in negative manner which affects their profitability too. Secondary data: In order to gather desired data investigator simply makes use ofonline articles, journals,books, publicationand many more as the main secondary sources which supports in obtaining valid outcome in quicker manner.
