Introduction Project planning is a part of project management that is related with the use of different tools of project management in order to successfully complete the project(Kerzner, 2019). The present study will include different techniques of project management. In addition, it will include theoretical approaches and control techniques utilized in the field of project management. For successful completionof project, it is imperative to select right approach of projectplanning(BrewerandDittman,2018).Inthiscontext,differenttechniquesand approaches of project planning are mentioned below: Agile:It is one of most popular and recognized techniques of project management. It is the approach that is used for the projects which are iterative and incremental. It is a process wherein demand & solutions are developed via collaborative efforts of self organization team and their customers. This is based on the loopholes found in the waterfall method which was not able to fulfill the demand of competitive and constant movement of the software industry. Main aim of Agile approach is to develop a suitable software in order to foster the iterative development, change recognition and team collaboration(Rowe, 2020). The major values of agile methodology are individuals & interactions over processes, collaboration of customers on contract negotiation, responding to change effectively. Prince 2:It is a project management methodology that is used across the globe. It is a crucial approach that guides organization to complete a project successfully.This approach helps a project manager to perform different cycle of the project efficiently. Additionally, Prince 2 is based on tried and tested experience of project managers across the world(Anantatmula and Rad, 2018). In addition, it offers themes, processes and principles so that the project can be completed in an appropriate way. It guided the project managers of how to start, manage as well as deliver the project from start to finish. It is possible to complete the project efficiently by applying this approach successfully.

Waterfall technique:It is a traditional tool of project management as it is based on the classical approach. It is based on the proper sequential approach wherein the next task is performed when the previous task has been successfully completed. Alike, a waterfall the main aim to accomplish the project successfully(Sanchez and Haas, 2018). It is a suitable approach when one is working on the project with ample of dependencies. This approach is highly suitable to manage the complex project wherein the tasks are divided in different components. Here, phasing is done that is essential for successful completion of a project. Conclusion It is analyzed through above-stated information that project management techniques play a vital role in successful completion of a project. There is discussion regarding various project management planning tools such as agile, prine2 and waterfall techniques.
