PROJECT REFLECTION
Introduction
This assignment is based on the reflective essay on a project relating with the shifting
of library from 8th floor to 2nd floor. The reflective essay is a specific type based paper in
which the overall project illustrates by understanding each of the section of the project
(Aapaoja & Haapasalo, 2014). This type of essay also illustrates the reflection of the ideas or
the possible practices related to this project in future. Here, the respective project is based on
the shifting of a library from 8th floor to 2nd floor and also it has to make a large sized
modern library with innovative technologies (Avrich, 2014). For making the new modern
library, various project management phases has been followed. Also, this project has a certain
timeline along with a certain amount of budget which also has to discuss in this reflection. In
this reflective essay, the review of the project process as well as project related tools and also
project team has to mention.
Project Evaluation
Reviewing of project process and tools
Here, the project incorporates the shifting of library from 8th floor to 2nd floor (Black
& Muddiman, 2017). Not only the shifting of library happens but also it needs to redesign the
library for making the library as large sized. At the execution timing, the project follows
several project process such as PMBOK, PRINCE2 and also AGILE (Davidson, 2014). In
general, the PMBOK knowledge areas provides the traditional flow to the project which
includes the scope, time, cost as well as quality of the project. Apart from that, the PMBOK
helps to the project for executing by several stages like initiating, planning, executing,
monitoring and controlling and also closing (Eskerod & Jepsen, 2016). According to the
PMBOK, it has to establish the topic of the project along with the project goal and also it has
to determine the feasibility of this project because without checking the feasibility criteria,

the project cannot successful while it has been executed. At the planning stage, it has to set
the strategies of the project so that the project runs in its own track (Jianxin, Fang & Lei,
2014). Here, as per the Gantt chart, it has been realised that all of the project related ideas
need to brainstorm while the project topic has been selected. And it must require to make a
project charter because the project charter can display the objectives as well as stakeholders
and also authorization of the project manager.
Apart from that, the Gantt chart plays a crucial role in the project management.
Because within the Gantt chart, all of the activities of the project are displayed in a detailed
manner (Johnson-Cramer, Berman & Post, 2017). The reflection of the Gantt chart helps to
ensure project success along with project cost and also time schedule. By utilizing the work
break down structure, it has also reflected on the project because within it, all the stages along
with the project activities has been demonstrated for understanding the pathway of the
project.
Apart from that, the stakeholder analysis is another important parameter in the project
management (Karaman & Kurt, 2015). From the stakeholder management, the detailing of
the stakeholder that means the particular stakeholders for particular actions can be understood
with proper detailing. According to the project management constraints, it can be
demonstrated that to get an effective quality based project, it must need to follow the major
project constraints such as project cost, time and also quality.
Improvement for the future
According to Lappi, Haapasalo & Aaltonen, (2015), here, the library moving project
uses three different kinds of project management process like PMBOK, PRINCE2 and Agile.
In the execution part of the project, the actual demonstrated part is that initially the project
starts with the process of PMBOK with various phases such as initiating, planning, executing

PROJECT REFLECTION
as well as monitoring and controlling and also closing. The phases of the project actually
displays the actions taken by at the timing of evaluation of the project. Because the PMBOK
process helps to execute a project within a right path. By utilizing the PMBOK knowledge of
areas, the strategies as well as resource planning all of the things are evaluated. Also, the
risks are easily identified from the project and the engagement of the stakeholder in a
particular activities can be also understood. After the utilization of PMBOK process,
PRINCE2 methodology is used for making the continuous justification. Because the
PRINCE2 methodology is too much effective for implementation of project. By applying the
PRINCE2 methodology, it has been understood the justification of the project.
After using the PRINCE2 methodology, the Agile method is used for rolling out the
project. Because, it assumes that the Agile methodology is incremental as well as iterative
approach and for that, the project can execute by following this approach. Also feedback can
help to create the new kind of iterations in order to redesign the project for successful
completion. When the requirement of the developing of hardware as well as software
happens, then the Agile methodology is used at that timing. In this project, it needs to install
the computers, check the telephone jacks, network testing etc.
Also, it has been suggested such recommendations which are required to employ
within this modern library. The first recommendation is related with the system that means
within the database system, it needs to update the total number of various kinds of books
including the available or unavailable books. The up to date of books helps to the modern
library so that the student as well as teacher can avail the books. The second recommendation
is related with the accessing with internet which describes the connection between the
internet and availability of books so that the student can check the availability of the books
over the internet. The third recommendation relates with the making of online portal which
defines the name of the books with author, the total numbers of books and their availability

and also the students can easily book the particular book from the library portal. The fourth
recommendation is that in the online portal, there must exists eBooks so that the students can
able to learn from eBooks with accessing the Internet. The fifth recommendation is that there
should have a biometric system by which the students can easily enter into the library by
punching with their school ID card. There should has a sitting system so that the students can
read several books without any problem.
Team evaluation
Reviewing of team and individual effectiveness
Project team member is the integral part of the project management. Here, as per the
stakeholder matrix, various kinds of stakeholders can exists in this particular project. The
stakeholders are such as student, school principal, employees, suppliers as well as teachers. If
it has been seen the stakeholders matrix, then the students are the highest priority as per the
stakeholders matrix (Pullum, 2014). Because the students are directly proportional with the
library (Radujković & Sjekavica, 2017). Their knowledge has been enriched from various
books reserving in the library. By utilizing the modern library, the students can develop their
knowledge as well as reading ability.
Here, implementation of modern library helps for changing the school environment
because it induces for improving the students’ grade and for that it is relative with the
reputation of the school (Saltz & Crowston, 2017). Apart from that, in the modern library
there must present such employees who should have the library knowledge for conducting the
library. In that case, the employees play the major factor for guiding the library. For
implementing the modern library, there must has sufficient economical support as well as
good quality books, otherwise the library cannot execute (Špundak, 2014). The supplier is the
source for providing good quality books. For constructing the large size based library, it

requires more books as it helps to increase the size of the library. It needs to choose the best
quality supplier for supplying a number of books for storing in the library.
The teacher is another stakeholder who exists in the stakeholder matrix in this project.
Because they have been gained various kinds of knowledge from this modern library. Apart
from that, the modern library helps to the teachers for enhancing their teaching skills. In
addition, the modern library is beneficial for the students because the students can make
easily their study notes by utilizing various books in library.
Improvements of team in future
The modern library helps to the students for enlacing their study knowledge so that
they can achieve their success in their study. If the modern library is utilizing the internet, the
student can improve their personal study knowledge and for that not only is their knowledge
of study limited in the study books but also it expanded with the use of internet. For that, the
can achieve a good marks in their examination. By the good performance, the reputation of
the school increases which helps to rise the rate of student admission and with the increasing
of admission rate, it helps to grow of the economic level (Tunian, 2014). The employees have
to know the library skills around the modern library as they take a part of conduction of
modern library. The modern library should has an option of updating so that it can update the
availability of books. Depending on availability, it helps to provide the information about the
availability of books so that the suppliers can supply the right amount of books to make the
modern library.
Conclusion
The conclusion part has been ended in this way that the modern library comprises
various facilities including internet facility, online portal, variation of books etc. The project
is mainly is grounded on the movement of the library from the 8th floor to 2nd floor. Not only

the movement of the library happens but also it has to make a new kind of modern library
with various facilities. In that case, several stakeholders involve in this project such as
students, teacher, supplier, employees etc. In the discussion part, it also provides such
recommendations for this modern library. The modern library should has internet facility
because nowadays the internet provides lots of facilities in every sector. Utilizing the internet,
it helps to the students for gaining more knowledge and also offer several facilities in the
making of modern of modern library. The student can able to learn more from a variety of
books in modern library and gets more score in their examination for increasing the
reputation of the school. Apart from that, various project management methodologies help to
execute this project and these methodologies are PMBOK, Agile, PRINCE2 etc. By using the
PMBOK, the whole task of the project may be divided into several activities of few stages. In
this way, the project of constructing the modern library has been executed.
