Rationale
Rationale: The main idea behind selecting the specific topic is such that researcher may have
their personal involvement to study in the special study so that it will help to enhance the
knowledge related to employee engagement. Also, with the help of the current study,
researcher gain good knowledge and raise the interpersonal skills which in turn assist to attain

Literature Review
In the view of Alagarsamy, Mehrolia and Aranha (2020) employee engagement is a method
through which employee of a firm feel passionate about their jobs. So engaging employees is a
crucial for retaining valuable talent and consider the best way to satisfy employees.
Al-Jabri (2020) share their views that employee engagement is create direct impact upon
business performance because it help to reduce the staff turnover and improve productivity of
an employee which in turn direct affect performance level of a company. Turner (2020) stated
that through employee engagement, employees are motivated and keep happy which in turn
helps to sustain the strong relationship between employees and a company.
According to Coral and Bansal (2020) through effective employee engagement strategies,
company increase revenue and lower down the absenteeism among employees which in turn
help to amended the action of worker and business. Also, if employees are happy then they
also put their best efforts in order to attract range of customer towards it which directly creates
positive impact upon business sales (Gupta and Sharma, 2016).
Alvi and et.al., (2020) explain that there are many challenges which company faces while
engaging employee such that different communication styles which affect the results in
negative manner. Also a lack of effective communication hinder's the team efficiency and also
affect the employee's level of trust among each other and this in turn affect the business
performance. On the other side, Doshi (2020) argued that changes in the employee needs is
also consider another challenge for the company and this in turn not help to managing
employees. Further, it also leads to creates conflict between management and employees which
creates hurdles and affect the overall performance of a business in negative manner.

Research types: In the actual study, investigator will chooses qualitative type in which scholar
collected the data through an open ended and conversational communication. Using this
method, researcher will able to determine importance of employee engagement for enhancing
business performance.
Research approach: for the study, researcher will chooses inductive research approach which is
begin with an measurement and also apply different theories related to employee engagement
in order to accomplish the specify purpose.
Research philosophy: Researcher will chooses Interpretivism philosophy in which the views of
selected sample are interpreted in better manner so that it is easy to examine the importance of
applying various employee engagement strategy in order to enhance the business performance.
Data collection: For the study, both primary and secondary methods will chooses such that for
secondary research, different books and articles are selected which are published from last five
years (Zheng and et.al., 2018). On the other side, under primary research, questionnaire is
designed in which researcher asked question relate to employee engagement so that it may aid
to perform the business in better mode.
Sampling: Here, investigator will chooses simple random sampling method in which 20
employees of Marks and Spencer will selected. Such that through this method, researcher will
easily accomplish the aim and answer the research question as well (Abadie and et.al., 2020).
Data analysis: Thematic data analysis will chooses under qualitative study in which graphical
representation is done that will help to interpret the views of respondents in better manner.
