Using the template below as a framework, develop a scope management plan for a project you have
managed. You may use templates from the text or other templates provided in Appendix 2 or from
your workplace that provide evidence of your competency. This should be extensive including both
product and project scope and give a shared understanding of the desired project outcomes and how
the project will be delivered. It is suggested that you could utilise your project charter as the basis of
the project andthe scope definition checklist in Appendix 1 in support of generating the scope

D. Manage Scope Control Processes: 30 Marks
(BSBPMG511- 3.1,3.2,3.3)
D1.For the project that you have nominated, state how scope change requests can be managed:
Write your findings of scope change requests in the given spaces below.
What events could generate a scope change request? For example, changes in deliverables,
budget, timeline etc.4 Marks
For this particular project the event that may generate a scope change request is timeline. The total
area of the renovation site is 120 ft2; however the total estimated time for the project is very less.
Thus, the timeline of the project should be changes according to the complexity of the work
packages or activities. It is expected that, if the time for some of the activities are extended within
the already estimated cost then the project outcome will definitely meet the success criteria and
client’s expectation.
At what threshold did changes in budget cause a formal authorisation process and how was this
process conducted?4 Marks
The threshold limit for this project is defined between 1and 9. For the value between 5 and 7
threshold changes in budget can cause a formal authorization process and it is the responsibility of
the project manager, budget planner and the investor to conduct this process successfully.
D2. Consider that a stakeholder has requested a change in scope to the project. 10 Marks
Using the template form below (or you may utilise a template from your workplace), demonstrate the
impacts to time, cost and quality.
(Note: the impacts to time and cost identified in the change request will be referred to in other
following course units should you be using the same project.)
