Feminization of poverty means change or gap in the level of income biasses between men
and women. This gap has widened in the past decade. The large number of women
approximately around 1.5 billion women in UK are living in 1 dollar or less for a day. This
phenomenon states that, there is a dis- appropriate percentage gap which states that large number
of poor population are mostly women. There is an increasing matter which affect female more
than men (Gimenez, 2018).
In accordance with age, sexuality and race it has been examined that, women are the
poorest than men. It is due to cultural issues and thinking where men are empowered more and
given more opportunities than women. Due to this issue, it adversely affect the children, family
and entire economy (Essay on Feminization Poverty, 2019). Women salaries have become
stagnant. This wage gap between men and women and also class issues makes women poorer
and keep them below poverty line. To avoid this, workplace discrimination must be avoided and
focus on giving equal opportunities to both men and women.
Globally women are affected by poverty and around 20% women working women work
within vulnerable environment (GLOBAL FEMINISM, 2019). Globally women are paid 60 t6o
75% of the men wages. Women's are exploited and discriminated at workplace (Swindells and
Jardine, 2018). There are various social and economic factors which contribute towards women
poverty which leads to increase in the wage gap between men and women.
