with the indigenous families, children and colleague. First of all, the nurses must respect the cultural
sensitivity issues and take a compassionate and respectful communication approach both verbal and
nonverbal (Funston 2013). Even gesture, tone of voice or lack of eye contact can seem rude and
disrespectful to an aboriginal or TSI. Cultural bias and building rapport is also a very important
characteristic feature that is needed to be adhered to with sensitivity while working with aboriginals
