METHODOLOGY
Literature Search Strategy
To obtain overall credibility of the literature review, well defined literature strategy
has been used. This will help in ensuring a more focussed research towards the
completion of the dissertation. Selection of various articles is the next task after the
completion of research topic and question in the dissertation. Hence various kinds
of strategies will be used so that research is conducted in a proper manner.
Search terms
It is very necessary formulate proper keywords so that various articles
can be selected on that basis. This will help in selecting relevant articles which will
help in completing the study in successful way. Various search terms can be as
follows:
TERM 1: Sexual health promotion, Sexual illness
TERM 2: Teenage pregnancies, sexually transmitted disease.
INTRODUCTION
Sexual health promotion is important because it helps in building
cultural understand of health and illness that can be used if there is
lack of sexual health education and promotion.
It is also an important part of mental, physical, emotional and social
well being in a person's life. The overall dissertation is based on
promoting sexual health so that teenage pregnancies and sexually
transmitted diseases are prevented in UK.
Policies and framework actions which are designed aims at supporting
healthy sexual activities so that negative outcomes of reproduction and
sexual activities are not increased.
There are many factors which influence sexual and reproductive health
in individuals such as income, employment, housing facilities, gender,
people with specific needs and education system.
A disproportion has been noticed in sexual and reproductive health all
those people who are disabled, bisexual, transgender and inter-sex
individuals.
Lack of education and awareness are also some of the reasons which
have increased teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases
in UK to a higher extent.
Effective strategies and methods to promote sexual health in

To understand the importance of sexual health promotion in reducing
teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases in UK.
Objectives:
To understand the concept of sexual health promotion.
To determine the major role of sexual health promotion in
reducing teenage pregnancies in UK.
To critically analyse the role of sexual health promotion in
reducing sexually transmitted diseases in UK.
To suggest different methods to promote sexual health among
teenagers in UK.
Research Question
PICO framework will be used to designing the research
question for the ongoing study. It helps in formulating and
answering the questions in desired manner.
