EXECUTIVE SUMMARYThe present study is based on the project of reducing use of plastic cups in the company in order to improve environmental conditions.Indonesia population like to have coffee in the plastic cups that is why wastage is increasing that is hampering the overall planate. DMAICmodel is the approach that supports in identifying root cause of problem and finding solution so that issues can be resolved and project canbecome successful.

INTRODUCTIONUK is the country where more than two million coffee cups are being disposed every day.These paper cups cannot be recycled. Every day high quantity of plastic cups is being sent tolandfill that creates issues for the atmosphere and negatively impact on environmentsustainability. Starbucks is the international coffee company that serves many consumers per dayacross the world. Initially it was started with the single store but later on it has been expanded tomany other locations (Bartolotta and Hardy, 2018). Recently entity has employed approx 238000employees. Starbuck is planning to organise campaign in the mall before Christmas holiday inorder to make people aware with the drawback of using plastic cups. Starbucks is serving hot andcold coffees and various other products to the consumers. It always concentrates on needs ofguests and accordingly serves them services. The main purpose of organising campaign in themall is to make connection with mass audience. As before the Christmas evening many peoplego to mall for purchasing goods and for enjoying quality time with families. This is the rightplace where entity can communicate message to large number of people. Over a period of timequantity of plastic cups are getting increased day by day, in such condition environmentalcondition are getting affected badly. If Starbuck make changes in its operations and start servingcoffee in reusable mugs then it might create negative image in the mind of guests. Thus, it is veryimportant to make them aware first and then make changes in the operational activities. Though,changes in plastic cups and replacing it with the reusable mugs can increase cost of the businessbut if consumers understand the benefits of reusable cups then they will take more interest andthey will come to this place frequently. That is the reason that entity is planning to conduct acampaign in the mall where it can communicate the message about benefits of reusable mugs forthem and for environment as well. Coffee cup prices are not obvious for the consumers but it is embedded in the money thatis paid by consumers. Replacement of plastic cups with the reusable cups can help the organizingin minimizing cost of per coffee cup so consumers can be able to get amazing coffee ataffordable prices. Present study will discuss about current issues with the use of plastic cups.Furthermore, necessary solutions will be presented to mitigate with these problems. Furthermore,current and future state related to the topic will be presented in this report. 1
