CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Introduction
Offshore service centre is those which are situated outside the country. The employees
who are working odd hours in the offshore service centre have to face various problems and they
feel depressed. It also leads to increase in employee turnover for the company due to working in
the odd hours. In this research, it will provide understanding about the impact of the working odd
hours on the work life balance for the employees working in the offshore service centre. The
research will include the literature review which will assist in identifying the views of authors
regarding this problem. It will include the research methods for conducting this research in the
effective and efficient manner. This research will include, the discussion on topic in which it will
take into considering views of different authors on the basis of which the solution to the
problems will be identified. The research methodology will be used for conducting the research
through which the information regarding research topic will have identified through the different
sources and will be analysed by using the techniques.
Background
The employees face various problems which influence their life and also, they feel
demotivated and thus lack interest in working in that type of company. People working in
offshore service centres are not able to enjoy their personal life and hamper the mental condition
of the person and they are not able to reduce their fatigue level. To assess the impact of working
odd hours on the work life balance in offshore service centre topic is chosen for the research
because it will help the company which are located in offshore to identify the factors which
affect their work life balance. This research will help in understanding the problems which are
associated with the companies which are situated at offshore. It will provide understanding of

Due to this reason, there are differences in the working hours. The topic is regarding the
