How would you work within five domains of national framework for mental health
services?
Basically, there are five domain which sets as framework in mental health service which
are explained further.
Domain of promoting language of hope will be followed by supporting Alison in treatment
(Frost and et.al., 2017). Here, her views and values will be respected. The second domain that is
person first and holistic approach is followed by offering support to divorced women.
Supporting personal recovery domain is followed by developing relationship with Alison and
providing care services. Moreover, last domain of social inclusion is applied by supporting
single mother. Here, partnership will be built with her family and friends. With help of it mental
care services will be provided.
What multidisciplinary teams might be useful?
A multidisciplinary team is group of people who provide support to patients. The group
might consist of professionals who recommend treatment to individual patients. In case of Alison
there are various multi disciplinary teams required.
Mental health team- in this there will be members consist of psychiatrist. They will deal with
mental health problems of Alison and provide care services. Psychiatrist will find out symptoms
of mental disorder and develop plan by identifying her needs.
Social support team- This team will help in providing social support to her. It may include
Social worker, Counselor, etc. that will support in implementing care plan developed by
professionals. They will gather information and communicate with doctors.
Professional boundaries that you may need to keep in mind in working
The social workers should work in their professional boundaries while providing social
care. For example- They must consult with their supervisor before dealing with her. Moreover,
they organizational documents should be consulted in case of social workers are uncertain about
their role. Furthermore, care must be provided within legal and ethical requirements of role of
social worker. Thus, in this way professional boundaries need to kept in mind while working
with Alison (Le Boutillier and et.al., 2015). So, boundaries are to be stated and guidelines will
be followed while working with her.
Gather information from Alison and clarify her needs

It is important to gather information about Alison health so that needs can be identified.
Also, it will help in developing plan according to it and providing treatment. A person
information must be gathered so that their needs can be identified. For this information can be
collected from Alison cultural background, her friends, family, etc. Besides this, by reading her
care plan, asking colleagues a lot of information can be gathered. It will help in finding out her
present needs. Alongside it, from internet as well information can be collected. Alison opinions
can be taken and analyzed. This will be easy to get clarity about her needs.
In present scenario Alison needs can be determined through her friends, family, etc. From
that care plan can be developed according to her needs.
How you would apply the six best practice principles of recovery-oriented mental health
practice?
The six principles that can be applied are as follows :- (Principles of recovery oriented
mental health practice, 2010)
Principles of empowerment – It is the first principle in which person is encouraged to live their
own lives. Their families are supported to take decision as well.
Respectful and honest – The person must be respected while communicating. Also, honest
interaction must be done to motivate it.
Respect value, beliefs and culture- the person cultural values, beliefs, etc. should be respected.
Alison must be respected even when she behaves angrily. Her personal values and dignity should
be maintained.
Attitude and rights- Here, Alison individual and human right will be protected. She will be
allowed to develop relationship with friends, family, etc. she will be allowed to enjoy her life
(Kidd, Kenny and McKinstry, 2015).
Partnership and communication- In this Alison will be allowed to attain her life goals and
objectives. The information shared by her will be kept confidential. Alongside it, no other person
will be involved in providing treatment to her.
Evaluating recovery- It will be applied by reviewing track record of Alison behavior. Her
behavior will be evaluated by psychiatrist. Then, her friends will be provided report of Alison
progress.
Identify the range and potential effects of social and other barriers

There are many barriers which can occur while dealing with a person who is mentally ill.
The barriers may impact highly on care services. In this case the barriers are explained below :-
Systematic issues and barriers
Lack of access to accommodation- The people suffering from mental illness may not find
appropriate place to live. So, it can be a barrier in Alison case.
Lack of government policies – there is lack of government policies to fulfill people needs. For
example- there is no policy for homeless people with mental illness. Similarly, in Alison case
this barrier can be a issue.
Other systematic issue – It consist of lack of services, safe housing, etc. that is required to cater
people with mental illness.
So, these are some social barriers that may affect Alison to access health services.
Discuss the basic principles that you might take into account when setting realistic targets
There are some principles that can be followed. They are described below :-
Valuing individual as human being- Here, Alison will be treated as human being and
then care services will be provided (Leitan and et.al., 2015).
Equity and fairness- The principle of respect and dignity should also be included.
Social justice- the targets will be set to provide social justice for her .
Working within law – This principle will restrict person to work within law. The targets set will
be realistic.
Characteristics that help to build rapport and enhance communication
The characteristics required to enhance communication is by building trust and showing
respect to her. The skills required to communicate is same as friends, family members, etc. of
Alison. It will helpful to build relation with her and identifying needs. The skills are empathy,
respect, friendliness, etc. these all will be useful in building rapport and increase communication
with Alison.
How you would help Alison to develop her self-efficacy?
Self efficacy can be developed by allowing her to make right decisions. In this Alison can
be empowered to make choices about activities that improve her quality of life. Also, clear
information can be provided to her. Here, career growth options can be offered to create a feeling
of hope. She can be allowed to create connections and motivating it. However, I can help her to
identify that she possess some skills and value her resilience.

When setting targets with Alison, discuss what you might need to establish.
In providing recovery care it is required to set targets so that patient is recovered easily.
There are many things which should be established.
Meeting needs- this is first thing in which Alison needs must be established. Here, the
information related to her needs and priorities should be collected and analyzed.
Document plan according to person priority – the wellness and risk plans must be taken into
consideration of Alison.
Communication network- A proper communication network should be established. It will
enable in gathering up to date information and analyzing it.
Develop a risk plan for Alison
The risk plan is as follows :-

Here, PATH process can be followed in order to implement recovery plan. The recovery
plan describes what measures are to be taken and how treatment will be provided to patient. In
case of Alison the recovery plan is as mentioned below :-
Short term goals – To treat her borderline personality disorder.
Long term goals – To improve her mental health condition and improve quality of life
To make her independent of living a peaceful and quality life.
Daily activities – To communicate with her and share feelings. Also, to engage it with friends,
family, etc.
Determine who Alison might like to choose to involve in their recovery process and the
roles she wants them to play

In recovery plan Alison might chose to involve some other members to help her.
However, it is necessary as well to include so that social support is provided.
Social worker- They will provide social support and assist in performing activities. Hence, they
can play role of friends as well. This will enable in handling critical situation.
Friends - From case study it can be analyzed that Alison might include her friends (Davidson,
2016). They will play crucial role in it. She will share her feelings and opinions. Also, Alison
might want her parents to be involved in it. They will encourage her to share goals and express
feelings openly.
Family members- She might want her parents to provide emotional support. Alison might want
psychiatrist in recovery plan. He or she will provide complete support in treatment of personal
mental disorder.
Discuss how you might facilitate support, training or services to Alison’s family and friends
based on identified needs
Alison member should be given support so that they are able to provide social care
services to her. The facilities given are as follows :-
Money or physical resources- Money or physical resources facilities can be provided to offer
care services to her. It will help in fulfilling needs of Alison.
Education and training- Alison family member and friends should be given proper training and
education on how to deal with situation (Doroud, Fossey and Fortune, 2015). Thus, training can
be provided to them through video lessons, case studies, etc. her friends can be educated on how
to deal with her.
List some obstacles that you might face when working with Alison. Discuss how you
might overcome these.
There might occur some obstacles while working Alison. Thus, it is essential for identify
those so that it can be resolved. The major challenge is communication. It is because while
working with her it may be difficult to interact and meet goals of people. She might get fear or
stressed to communicate with any other person. Without proper communicating it is difficult to
provide care services.
This obstacle can be solved by building trust with Alison. Here, she can be educated
about how to cope up with situation. Furthermore, support can be provided through respect and
trust. Also, by working collaboratively with Alison a level of satisfaction can be built. She can be

encouraged to do take decisions. Alongside it, she can be assisted to attain her goals and then
celebrate it. An effective relationship can be built with her. Thus, in this way challenge can be
overcome.
When reviewing Alison’s plan, think about the things you should consider and discuss
them.
In order to review Alison plan there are certain things that should be focused. They are as
follows :-
Goals – the goals of recovery plan should be evaluated. It must be checked that whether they are
realistic and Alison has found it challenging or not. Also, how much she is been motivated to
achieve that goal.
Relevancy of services – Here, the relevancy of services can be observed. In this the connection
between Alison and care worker is noted that the services delivered are effective or not.
Consumer satisfaction – This is also another thing that can be focused on (Le Boutillier and
et.al., 2015). The satisfaction level of Alison is evaluated that how much she is satisfied with
services offered. Moreover, reasons can be identified for dissatisfaction. It will be useful in
resolving that and making her satisfied.
Stakeholder satisfaction – here, Alison family members and friend’s satisfaction can be
discussed while reviewing plan. The support they have given to Alison, etc.
