Public Service Announcement is a kind of advice for emerging adults who belong to the age
group of 18 to 20 years of age. It is of immense pleasure that people usually take into account
this awkward as well as uncooperative stage that is associated with lives of individuals as
period of adolescence. This particular phase of life is usually filled with numerous challenges
while a person constantly tries to face them and keep fighting whatsoever problems come
appear in his life, he tries to keep his head above water always. In the following videos it
shall be discussed it is important on part of adults to navigate the actual “defining decade”
associated with life.
On the very first video, we find Meg Jay, a clinical psychologist actually suggest that people
who belong to twenty something usually don’t have a control over their emotions and they
take decisions hastily. Youngsters must realize that that adolescence period act as the most
important part of their lives and they undergo lot of transformations that help them to shape
themselves into complete human beings (Jay, 2013). Jay has been working with these young
people for more than ten years and in her lecture she tries to weave psychology together in
association with stories that are often talked about behind the closed doors. She says that
twenties is the period that is often termed as developmental sweet spot and this only
approaches once throughout life, time when we have to sort out decisions what requires to be
done or to be avoided.
On the second video Jeffrey Arnett, another renowned psychologist in Massachusetts
discusses the issue that emerging adults take long time to actually “grow up” in real sense in
this modern world like to pursue a bright career, get a good job and then marry and have a
settlement. The transition between adolescence as well as adulthood has to be shortened and
people are required to involve themselves in exciting adventures at the present moment rather
