It aims to elaborate and understand musical behaviour and experience including the process through which music isvisualised, created and responded to an individual’s day to day life. In the present research study, researcher will focus on different aspects of psychology of music. According to Rickert, Barrett &Ackermann (2015) music psychology shed light on non-psychological aspects of musicology and musical practices. Music helps an individual lowering down his or her stress level and rejuvenateshim or her efficiently. As per Yang, McClelland &Furnham (2016) music works within psychology of music which seeks to comprehend the cognitive process of individual that underpins musicalbehaviours, involving perception, memory, comprehension, attention and performance. It was originally arises from the fields of psychoacoustics and sensation. Music is an important part ofindividual’s daily life. A significant amount of research concerns brain based mechanisms involved in the cognitive underlying music perception and performance. According to Greasley, Lamont &Sloboda (2013) numerous areas of psychology of music focused on the application of music in everyday life as well as the practices and experience of the amateur and professional musician. Music iseverywhere in society, and it depends on the occasion what type of music one listen. For example at festive period religious music played, at celebration time rock and pop music plays. Several studiesconducted by the researchers elaborated that listening to music while working affects the productivity of individuals working in complex cognitive tasks. Music not only helps in enhancing theperformance of individual but also helps in lowering his or her stress level efficiently. Researchers argued that listening to music while doing work can be considered as source of distraction and itdirectly affects the work of individuals (Yamasaki, Yamada and Laukka, 2015).
