INTRODUCTION
Screening programs refers to set of activities or procedures which are helpful to identify
cause and presence or particular problem. It includes several activities through which use of
alcohol and illegal drugs can be identified among staff members of an organisation (Chatterjee,
Shi and García-Closas, 2016). However, it consist blood test, physical examination and
psychological evaluation that can be used to determine alcohol and drug use of employees in
company. In respect of this report, it is based on critical evaluation of alcohol and drug screening
programs that can be applied at specific workplace. This assignment will focus on benefits and
downsides to screening all employees along with relevant issues. It will also include accuracy of
the selected company regarding screening programs.

What would you advise the CEO about the benefits and downsides to screening all employees in
this organisation each month? You should include in your advice the issues with screening
programmes in general, as well as the specifics of this screening programme.
Screening programs plays an important role or identifying employees addicted to alcohol
and drugs that impact negatively on their health as well as society. It is necessary for
management of organisation to organise health screening programs for employees at work place
to enhance health & safety. However, it has been analysed that the hangover of illegal drugs or
alcohol is responsible for reducing concentration of employees due to which chance of risky
incidents increased. Many of road accidents and deadly incidents happen due to drunk & drive
situation of truck drivers who works to supply product or raw material foe companies. It is
observed that drug addicted people are responsible for misconduct in office area which is not
applicable there and reduce safety factor of other employees at work place (Bahr, 2016). In
context of given case scenario, it has been analysed that CEO should focus on effective screening
programs to make sure about stable condition of staff members in terms of improve health &
safety at work place. As a workplace health advisor, it is recommended that screening of all the
employees has several benefits as well as downsides which are defined here.
Benefits of screening
Promote health and prevent disease: It has been suggested that screening to all staff
members is beneficial because it is responsible for promotion along with preventing disease
