Background
Public health is one of the main areas of concern of modern times. A number of health issues
have emerged and is deteriorating the image of public health and safety considerably. Major
areas include emergence of coronary diseases, tobacco smoking and chewing, and SARs for cell
phones and other electromagnetic devices. Tobacco smoking is one of the major causes of
diminishing health index all over the nation and almost 100 million people died due to tobacco
addiction. Tobacco is a plant that contains the chemical substance called nicotine which causes
the addiction and have other cancer-causing substances as well.
Discussion of the concerned areas
Both primary and secondary data source revel that there are around 1.1 billion tobacco users
worldwide. Primary data is collected from direct interview of the tobacco users and also no-
tobacco users to get an unbiased neutral result. Questionnaire survey form is developed and are
filled by the interview attendees. Secondary data is collected from previous years’ statistical
survey, WHO website, peer reviewed articles on smoking and its health hazards, and other online
data sources. Statistics show that a number of health hazards are caused due to inhalation of
tobacco like lung cancer (90%), breast cancer in women, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases
(80%) and Tuberculosis. Smoking tobacco exposes the person to more than 7000 toxicants and
about 70 carcinogenic elements damage nearly the whole body. Tobacco is one of the main
reasons of pre-mature death across the globe (Richardson, Ganz & Vallone, 2015). Primary data
collection will also expose the persons at risk (active and passive smokers) of it and how they are
not able to give up this fatal addiction. The percentage of tobacco being manufactured is to be
