1.0 Introduction
The research conducted in the field of public health practices and research have achieve
significant milestones including attaining of better life quality and increase life expectancy. The
awareness generated through health policies has helped in providing provisions for controlling

infectious diseases through immunization and interventions which are population based. Health
policies provided the opportunity to improve public health in general. In spite of the
advancement and success achieved in the field of Public Health and health policies there are
additional work which needs to be done in order to bring about widespread adoption required in
the field of evidence-based strategies.
1.2 Rationale
The current study is important to review the health policies and public health and increase the
focus on the evidence based public health to understand the benefits. It will help in accessing
information related to public health and policies and aligning with success of the program and
policies that are being implemented productivity of the workforce and optimal utilisation and
efficient use of resources in the public and private domain specifically in the case of Saudi
Arabia.
1.3 Research aim
The current research aims to focus on the evidence based public health information for
understanding the direct and indirect benefits achieving success in the implementation of
programs enhancing productivity of workforce and efficient usage of the resources. The study
will also discuss the principle tenets involved on executing the health policies and understanding
the roles in implementing programs development of policies and evaluating progress made in the
field of Public Health and health policies in Saudi Arabia.
1.4 Research objectives
● To analyse evidence-based approach in the field of Public Health practices and programs
for understanding the effectiveness of promoting health and lay the groundwork required
for effective evidence-based public health intervention in Saudi Arabia.
● To align information related to evidence based interventions with the Peer reviewed
literature and critically evaluate the processes involved in the evidence based decision
making.

The evidence-based public health refers to conscientious and judicious use of evidences in order
to make decisions related to public care. This entails evaluating the progress of policies
involving health protection prevention of diseases maintenance of Health and improvement and
promotion in the health policies. The key characteristics of evidence-based Public Health
involve decision making processes with the help of evidences procured from quantitative and
qualitative research. The application of program and planning frameworks and engaging
community for assessment and decision-making processes is the cornerstone for generating data
for evidence based Public Health. The public health policies needs sound evaluation and
dissemination of the outcomes to key stakeholders and the policy decision makers.
2.1 Definition of evidence
The evidence is described as facts and information which are available for determining the
validity and accuracy of results and prepositions related to public health. The idea related to
evidences is based on legal settings prevalent in the western societies. The usefulness of this
evidence is essentially variable in nature based on the stakeholders.

2.2 Understanding public health and health policies in context of evidence
The domains of influencers related to evidence based decision making includes population
characteristics needs preferences and values of the population invert along with available
