I have attained the core skills which are foundational to health promotion strategies. It is
of essence that I gain more skills and competencies which are relevant to health promotion.
These are the skills that I currently have.
Partnership building skills and knowledge
I have learned the skill to identify potential individual partners who would be beneficial
to health promotion in relation to computer-related injuries. Partnership building as a skill has
made me equipped me with the capabilities of engaging relevant companies, social groups, and
agencies in ensuring a collaborative approach.
Effective Communication and Report Writing knowledge and skill
As a medical practitioner, effective report writing skills are a necessity. This is crucial
when writing a program plan and the strategy for dealing with computer-related injuries at
Australia Catholic University. This would entail writing medical reports and journals,
preparation of health promotional materials related to computer-based injuries and decoding
medical terminologies for different audiences. (James, Lower & Howat,2001)
Effective communication especially the application of interpersonal skills, during conflict
management, decision making, team building, health promotion presentations, facilitation of
meetings and support-raising for the project. (Battel-Kirk, Barry, Taub & Lysoby,2009)

Technology skill base
I have been skilled in proper interaction with the computer interface in areas such as
word processing, spreadsheet, use of the internet and the search engines, use of audiovisuals for
presentation and relevant software for report requirements
Program planning, implementation, and evaluation skills
Assessment skills and knowledge
This skill would help in relevant literature review and get a view of the organizational.
This is to be attained with the involvement of the universities stakeholders. The input of
academic and practitioner professionals would be highly regarded in line with an assessment of
the impact and intervention strategies of computer-related injuries. The assessment skills would
help also in setting priority areas for health promotion. The thorough assessment would reveal
social, organizational and behavioral risk factors causing health-related injuries. (Barry,
Allegrante, Lamarre Auld & Taub, 2009)
Program planning skills and knowledge
These skills are of help in ensuring that I come up with a detailed intervention plan for
computer-related injuries and objectives that are measurable and realistic. The resources required
and relevant strategies to be implemented would be identified by using planning skills
Skills and knowledge for planning evidence-based strategies
These skills would help me formulate appropriate strategies that are relevant to the
school's culture, policies, and regulation. Background of the stakeholders’ social, cultural and
