Strengths: 1.High possibilities:Valley medical Center owns great possibilities, which include (135 bed- hospital, 1500 employees, and 375 practicing physicians. 2.Great experience in the field:The center has a unique experience in the field; they have always been a sole community provider and market leader, which that gives the priority against any other competitors in the market. 3.Strong loyalty:As a result to the great and long experience in the market, the center has loyal visitors coming and going frequently. 4.The facility is very family oriented:The culture among staff and physicians demonstrates caring, camaraderie and compassion. 5.The facility built on a donated land:VMC is owned and operated by large nonprofit health system with hospitals throughout the country. Challenges / Issues: 1.Historyof Ineffective leadership:The center faceda stringof short-term unsuccessful five CEO in the past 2 years, which created instability, gaps in the strategy and direction of the organization. 2.Decline in the volume and results of the center in the market:The last periods, the center suffered from a clear decline in the patient volumes in critical service lines like surgery, cardiology and oncology as a result from the high level of competition in the market. 3.Entrance of new competitor in the market:There largest competitor is a hospital in Gainesville, offer more comprehensive services and they located just to the north of Valley and they are building a new hospital just 2 mils from them. 4.Staffchallenges:Shortagesofhealthcareworkers,includingnurses, physicians, behavior, attitudes that are negative, limited accountability and a lot of employees and physicians considering to leave and work in the competitor hospital. 5.Low level of employee engagement:The score of the employee engagement was 50% nationwide. 6.Low level of patient satisfaction:The score of the patient satisfaction was 30%. 7.Leadership ability:There is a concern that may some of the leaders will not have the skills to establish the change necessary to lead the new direction.
