Introduction
The aim of this report making is to understand the experiences as well as the
qualifications required by the employers from Corporate Accountants. Earlier the employees
were not having the facility of online service for the employment purpose like searching jobs
online so, they used to visit different official places or offices that have an opening for job
and provide the job seekers a platform to come and take a chance to gain a job opportunity.
Although after the creation of online job portal, a person who is a job seeker can easily search
for the job he wants as suitable for him. There are many job portals either it might be private
or public or government that has been used in Australia for find a job opportunity Baum and
Kabst 2014). Seek and indeed are some example of online job searching portals in which
many jobs opening has been advertise that are publish by the Australian employers. Through
various job advertisement, an individual can search the job and get in to and can gain an
opportunity to work as per their requirement.
Online job portals make available various job opportunities in different streams as
well as requirements of several expertise and experiences to the concerned candidates who
are seeking for the job. They provides jobs such as financial accountant, Management
accountant, Senior Corporate Accountant, Tax accountant and many other job opportunities.
For the Corporate accounting job position employers demands a candidate who is
having a minimum bachelor degree in the stream of finance or accounting. While some
employers also demands for a certified Public Accountant (Gardiner et al 2018). Candidates
who wants to pursue his knowledge of tax through the tax accountant job position then he/she
must have the thorough knowledge of tax and their amendments and provisions.
The objective of making this report is to develop an understanding about the needs
and requirements of an employer for the job of corporate accountants. The assessment is

Answer to Requirement 1
To evaluate and for proper assessment total thirty job advertisements have collected.
The job advertisement collected posted over different portals for different positions like tax
accountant, corporate finance accounting. The sources that has used for the collection of
various job advertisement are mainly Seek and Indeed. As from two sources, total 30-job
advertisement has collected in which the jobs related to the position of corporate accountants,
fifteen advertisement of job collected from job search portal Indeed and rest other fifteen job
advertisements was collected from other online job search portal that is Seek. Amongst these,
two-job search portals advertise the job opportunity for the job position of tax and senior tax
accountant, senior financial accountant and corporate finance accountant has provided.

terms of finance and tax compliance, supporting the functions of tax advisory, ensuring that
the organizations accurately and timely complies with the regulatory authorities and
provision of advice and information to the external and internal stakeholders. He or she is
responsible for providing assistance in completing tax related compliance such as payroll tax,
stamp duty, custom tax, FBT and GST.
The quality or attribute of a corporate accountant to maintain accuracy in their work
results in effective use and implication of the required data and skills so that can help the

However, the accounting unit did not provide lesson on the practical usage of the software’s

the analysis of the several collected job advertisements, it can be inferred that the

The MPA unit HI 5020 has discussed several accounting work and responsibilities of
accountants like preparation of accounts such as consolidated financial statements,
accounting for assets, accounting for liabilities, statement of cash flow, statement of
comprehensive income statement, accounting for profit distribution, capital restructuring,
accounting for group structure, accounting for non-controlling interest and accounting for
intra group transactions. All the technical knowledge learned in the units are related to the
requirement of corporate accountants and has been advertised by the employer. However,
additional topics, attributes that should be possessed by accountants are missing from MPA
unit HI5020 Corporate Accounting that are listed on the job advertisement. Therefore,
personal quality or the personal attributes needed in the corporate accountants are missing in
the units, as it has not been discussed. Other missing topic is that the need of a technical
expertise that having a depth knowledge and understanding about technology so that can
improve the condition of financial system (Spraakman et al 2015). These topics are need to
be included and explain in additional to MPA unit HI 5020.

The topics studied in the unit HI 5020 included preparation of statement of
comprehensive income, accounting for liabilities, accounting for assets, accounting for intra
group transactions, accounting for income tax, group structures and accounting for non-
controlling interests. Knowledge gained by learning the unit would help corporate
accountants in becoming responsible for assisting the accountants of the company in
preparing different accounts and supporting different finance functions. They would be able
to inculcate a habit of assisting seniors in preparing the financials during the statutory and
