Qualitative Research Methods: Literature Review & Applications

This assignment presents a literature review focusing on qualitative research methods, analyzing three articles that discuss the application and evaluation of these methods in different contexts. The first article examines the contribution of qualitative research to the development of tailor-made community-based interventions in primary care, emphasizing its role in adapting interventions to local circumstances. The second article identifies key principles for assessing qualitative research, highlighting systematic and transparent data collection. The third article evaluates the use of qualitative research methods in social work literature, pointing out areas needing improvement such as audibility and data interpretation. The review concludes by noting the importance of training social workers in qualitative research to enhance the quality of its application in the field.

Article 1
This paper was written by Yvonne J. F. M. Jansen, Marleen M. E. Fonts, and
Antoinette A. de Bont. According to this paper, qualitative research is a type of research
strategy which is used for tailoring intervention and local care observation for any
research idea. This paper evaluations the influence of qualitative exploration in tailor
mode involvements which is estimated by trail methodology. This paper used around
33 related articles for explaining the qualitative research. According to the authors, this
research process is used to provide insight into circumstances of intervention.
Qualitative research can be used for tailoring and increase the intention of intervention
for regular care practice. However, qualitative researches are utilized for tailoring the
intervention so interventions are executed in practice as premeditated as compare to
correct to local circumstances (Anastas, 2004). In last few years’ qualitative research is
used in tailoring the intervention and many writers have argued this research can be
used for oriented research design and it provides a platform for making the suitable
modification at the time of intervention. This paper is studied about the role of
qualitative exploration in the growth of tailor based intervention which is estimated by
the pragmatic method. All articles used in this paper were published between 2000 and
2008. This research explained the role of qualitative investigation in terms of the tailor-
made organization which is based on the pragmatic trail process.

This paper was written by Jane Meyrick and according to this paper qualitative research
is a type of research which is used in a field of medicine, health, and global health
(Meyrick, 2006). This paper identifies a simple outline for assessing the theoretical
research. According to research, there are two main principles of qualitative research
such as systematic and transparency. This paper is explaining about qualitative and
quantitative research and also explains the limitation of both research strategies. A
good qualitative research should involve complete detail about how data were
composed. In global health, it is very important to provide complete detail about data or

information, therefore, this research strategy is used to analyze the collected data. In
this paper, two types of assumption are explained such as ontological and
epistemological. There are main three ontological collections can be streamlined such
as-
 The anti-realists approach
 Both qualitative and quantitative method denotes diverse ontological

This paper is explained about qualitative research strategy for all disciplines. According
to the author, this is the first step towards compare, judge, and synthesizes qualitative
research (Jansen, Fonts, & de Bont, 2009). The author discussed the role of qualitative
research in the field of health, medicine, and global health. This paper is also identified
as a simple way of measuring the rigor of qualitative data method which involves
ontological and epistemological assumptions.

This paper was written by Daniel T.L. Shek, X.Y. Han, and Vera M.Y. tang. This
paper describes the quality of advancement by using qualitative data method in the field
of social network (Shek, Tang, & Han, 2005). According to the author, the value of
advancement by utilizing qualitative investigation method in the field of public effort is
not high and a number of lessons are not sensitive for many concerns such as audibility,
truth values, a philosophical study, and interpretation of information or data. A review
of research indicates that efficiency of intervention has changed according to time.
According to research, it is estimated that social work involvement was not more
efficient (Lewis, 2015). Thyer provided the first principle for social work involvement
and he also provided reports of social work outline. In 1986 sandelowski described
various techniques to increase audibility of a qualitative data process. This process
involves many areas such as mutual influence between participants and authors,
justifications of the training, purpose of the training, and detail of data transformation
(McCusker, & Gunaydin, 2015). In the literature of social work, many authors have
identified the concern of quality in theoretical and qualitative research. This paper
studies about social work intervention for qualitative research and it is estimated that

there are many issues in the excellence of qualitative data method. The qualitative
investigation method in the field of public work should be restrained and it is estimated
that qualitative research should be complex in the field of quality. In this paper training
of social workers for qualitative research should be completed.
