Four types of qualitative research are as follows:
Ethnography- This is the most applicable and familiar type of research and places due
emphasis on the environment of the target participants, for understanding the themes,
motivations, goals and challenges that emerge. They account for group behavior
complexity and disclose interrelationships between group interactions. However, the
process is time-consuming and requires participation from well-trained researchers
(Lewis, 2015).
Narrative- Sequences of proceedings, collected from different individuals are
assembled together, with the aim of developing a consistent story. It enhances
improvement of performance, but is entirely based on recall ability of individuals,
thus having the possibility of bias.
Grounded theory- It provides a theory or explanation behind major occurrences, by
using interviews or existing documents. It employs a rigorous data collection and
analysis process that explains the phenomenon, but is time consuming and has scope
for researcher-induced bias (Lewis, 2015).
Phenomenological- Interviews, video recordings, or on-site visits are conducted to
understand the intended meanings and perceptions of participants. Although profound
information is obtained for the phenomenon under investigation, establishing validity
and reliability of approaches is difficult.

Credibility, transferability, dependability, and conformability are some of the ways
that help in establishing trustworthiness. Adopting a well-established research question,
conducting random sampling, developing familiarity with the partaking organizations,
