Prior to the advent of the total quality management concept, what was senior
management's typical approach toward quality?
Prior to the advent of total quality management concept, the senior management used to
make use of the Demings PDSA cycle. According to Dr. Demings the quality control of any
organization was dependent upon the management at the company and at the individual level and
he also said that most of the quality control problems were under the control of management. In
this approach, the company aims at achieving quality through a culture of change and better
cooperation in the management (Pietrzak & Paliszkiewicz, 2015). Deming also found out the
seven diseases that was deadly and that lead to quality crisis in any organization.
