INTRODUCTION
Quality management can we define present system which is helpful to the
organisation in ensuring appropriate services in managing its products. Quality management
include four basic components which are quality planning quality assurance quality control
and quality improvement. In order to achieve the objectives of the organisation managing the
quality organisation has to focus on products and services so that it can achieve its objectives
in an appropriate manner. The current report is based on health care practices where there is
discussion about use of quality management in healthcare services and practices. Under this
report the chosen organisation is NHS. It is providing services in healthcare industry of UK
where organisation is serving for providing consistent services high-quality and compensates
care to the local employees in order to manage the health system. Under this present report
there is discussion about importance of team development theories which are helpful in
increasing performance and maintaining sister to promote rights responsibility and Diversity
within service users and health care practices. There is also a discussion about continuous
quality improvement by use of models in order to manage quality and improve outcomes.
Along with this, there is discussion about relevant theories of motivation which related to
identifying the needs of social care within Organisation in achieving a person centric care for
service user.
MAIN BODY
Question 1
With reference to specific team development theories of choice, critically discuss the role and
performance of teams in maintaining systems and structures designed to promote rights,
responsibilities and diversity of service users in healthcare practice.
Team development is important for every organisation whether it is working in
healthcare or other industry. Teams are always being effective part in maintaining the quality
as well as improving the function of the organisation. It is also important for organisation
identify appropriate team members who can perform according to the dates and requirement
of organisation and will help the form in achieving its objectives. It is also identified that
there are number of options which are available to the organisation in order to improve its
functions while using appropriate team. A sufficient and capable team can be define as that
kind of team which include appropriate distribution of roles and responsibilities to each and
every individual in order to promote the rights responsibility and Diversity within the
services of different users. In context of NHS, it is operating within health care practices

where it is important for organisation to promote the rights and responsibilities for service
user to initiate appropriate and practices and improve the function of organisation. In relation
to this it is mandatory for organisation to follow appropriate functions which helpful to the
organisation in developing effective teams and using their rules according to the
requirements. In relation to building an effective team organisation can follow appropriate
Framework which is discussed below:
Tuckman team development theory
This theory was propounded by Bruce tuckman in 1965. It includes five stages of
team building which are helpful in building effective team for performing various tasks
within organisation and bringing effectiveness in working. The stages are forming storming
norming performing and adjoining. These stages are made for achieving outcomes within a
team which include stages from the beginning to the end of the project. These disease can
also use by NHS order to improve its function as well as build effective teams to perform
various activities. All the stages within this theory are discussed below:
Forming stage: It is beginning stage in team development theory which is related to
formulation of a team by using appropriate system. This part of theoretical also described as
orientation day which is used but manager introduced different individuals with everyone.
This theory is helpful to different individuals in identify about the other person within the
team where the team members can discuss their skills background interest project goal
timeline ground rules individual roles and many other. This stage of team development will
help NHS in familiarising each and every individual by assigning them roles and
responsibility in order to establishing relationship and understanding each and every one role.
Storming stage: It is the second stage in the process of team development where
organisation has to identify the characteristics of different individuals in order to work
together. This stage is helpful in determining the roles of different individual according to
their abilities and performs these roles in an appropriate manner. This is an effective system
which can be used by Organisation in order to maintain better relationships and perform the
function accordingly. In context of quality management within health care, NHS use this
system in order to identify the roles and responsibilities of different individuals so that they
can begin a relationship the performing in an appropriate manner. This stage can also termed
as conflict resolve where manager used to define responsibilities and avoid conflict but
providing them adequate information about the work.
Norming stage: Norming is the third stage in the process of team development where
employee starts noticing each other as well as uses appreciation in order to achieve the
objectives. Different activities within the task will be assigned to individuals we are they
have to manage them accordingly by reducing their personal bias and improving their
perception for each other. This is helpful to Organisation in reducing the disagreements
between different individuals and performing in an appropriate manner. Conflicts are there
worst part of every quality management system where it is the first target to be removed. This
stage will help in removing complex the managing the function of different individuals.
