AI Summary
This report explores the factors influencing the quality of research, emphasizing the importance of ethical considerations and the integration of rigour. It identifies potential issues such as bias, non-compliance with ethical norms, and inadequate resources that can negatively impact research quality. The report highlights the significance of obtaining participant consent, maintaining data confidentiality, and ensuring fairness and honesty throughout the research process. It also discusses methods for integrating rigour into qualitative medical research, including the use of coding techniques for data analysis and adherence to ethical guidelines to protect participant dignity and confidentiality. By addressing these factors and implementing best practices, researchers can enhance the quality and reliability of their findings. Desklib provides additional resources and solved assignments to aid students in their research endeavors.

FACTORS THAT MAY INFLUENCE THE QUALITY OF THE
RESEARCH
There are various factors that may affect the quality of the research including avoidance
of confidential norm, making changes and adoption of biasness while collecting data and
performing research. Noncompliance of ethical consideration would also have a major influence
over this research in terms of affecting its quality. In the same way non consideration of the
participant consent and harming their norms and values while performing the research would
also lead to have an adverse impact over this research. Forceful participation, unlawful
behaviour, violation of confidentiality norms would also lead to impact the research.
Likewise, if the researcher is not well trained, non-availability of adequate finance, lack
of technical support, teamwork would lead to have a major impact towards the quality of the
research. This will also impact the outcome of the research and its operation.
As under this research, there is a participation of two researchers and among those
researcher one is having a longstanding relationship with the community which may impact and
influence the quality of the research. This is because it would lead to raise biasness in the
research which would affect the quality of the research. As the researcher is having a relationship
with the community which would restrict it to get an in-depth analysis of the research problem
and as a result affect the quality of the research.
INTEGRATION OF RIGOUR IN THE PROJECT
Quality of research is depended upon various factors including consideration towards the
ethics as well other factors like taking of consent of the participants and various other. As this
research is performed in terms of qualitative terms so it is important that the checklist that is
related with medical research must not be too longer (Barbour, 2001). This would not only lead
to incorporate rigour in the project but would also improve the quality and outcome of the
research (Pletcher, 2020).
Likewise, ethical consideration is also an important part of the research that the participants
would give their free consent while participating in the data collection process. This means there
must be fairness, integrity, honesty and various other aspects to be kept in consideration while
collecting data from the participants (Wasnik, 2019).

Since this research is medical research so it is to be noted that while performing the
qualitative research the generalizable sample with conceptual framework that can be driven from
diversified sample and covers the entire data must be taken into focus (Daly and et.al., 2007).
This will lead to have better performance and rigourness of the qualitative medical research
along with raising the quality of research.
Likewise, in order to make further improvement and rigour in the research it is also to be
noted that while conducting the qualitative research and dealing with the diversified data an
adoption of the method of coding plays an important role (Saldana, 2016). Since under this
research the data is collected through the mode of interviews so implementing the method of
coding would play an important role under this research. This will enable the detailed research to
be in easy and understandable manner and mode (Williams and Moser, 2019).
As under this research three different communities are involved so it is most important that
the interest of any of the community would not be harmed and affected while conducting
research. this means that the individual interest of the community and the participants must not
be harmed with the performance of the research. Prior permission and consent of the research in
terms of signing of ethical forms must be taken off so that the research would be performed in an
ethical manner without affecting its quality.
Likewise, dignity of the participants must be kept in consideration while performing the
research. in the same way as this research involves a direct interaction with the participants in
terms of interviews so it is to be kept considered that the information of the participants must be
kept confidential. This will lead to raise trust among the participants that the fair practices are
being adopted with the aspect of the research (Ross, Iguchi and Panicker, 2018). This can also be
assisted with the compliance of the Data Protection Act that states that the data of the
participants and the collected information must be kept confidential.
Thus, it would be right to state that although there are various factors that may influence and
affect the quality of the research but with a consideration towards the aspect of the compliance of
ethical consideration, obtaining of consent, teamwork, non-biasness and various other aspects the
rigor in the research along with improvement in the quality would be accomplished.
