designing and building the products and services along with communicating with the current and
the potential clients (Edwards and et. al, 2020). It is essential and vital for an organisation to
perform and carry out all the core business activity as it helps a firm to get distinguished from the
competitors. The organisation selected for current study is Maldives Industrial fisheries
company, MIFCO, which is a public company that is engaged in the production, processing and
marketing of fish and fishery products incorporated in the year 1993 (MIFCO - Maldives
Industrial Fisheries Company Ltd, 2021).
Chapter 2: Systems to manage and monitor quality standards
2.1: Quality standards
The definition of quality comprises of the fact that the product and services provided by a
firm must meet and exceed the requirements, standards, expectations and specification level of
the employees. Maldives Industrial fisheries company ensures that the all the products that are
being provided and processed should be fresh and meet the requirements and expectation level of
its customers.
The term quality standards can be defined as the set of the documents that provide
requirements, specifications, guidelines, or characteristics that tend to be used consistently by an

Welfare) Regulations 1992 comprises of providing proper facilities, including toilets, washing
facilities and refreshment for employees together with regular sanitisation and social distancing
to prevent the spread of covid-19 (Zuhair, Fathah and Shareef, 2017).
