Qualys BrowserCheck is a web tool that checks the apps as well as extensions see if they are
updated with security patches. It's a "remote checkup" that helps alleviate one against having
to follow the continuously-shifting patch and changing landscape manually to decide what to
use (Kerbs, 2011). BrowserCheck determines which extensions and extensions are being used
on your device, whether vendors have launched newer versions. BrowserCheck will also
check which essential OS configurations are allowed on desktop devices, and also that OS
security patches are provided.
Summary
Qualys ensures that modern browsers that support plugins and extensions do not compromise
the security of the browser and risk the user of the system. It does this by scanning all

installed plugins and extensions and comparing it to their database against known
vulnerabilities.
