About This Document

Describe how quantitative research may be utilized to enhance professional practice. Search the web for practice guidelines that apply to your practice. Describe any quantitative studies utilized to develop the practice guidelines. Share with your peers how you recognized the study as quantitative. When being asked for practice guidelines, please try to go to appropriate sites, professional practice organizations, or databases like the former (it is now deactivated due to Federal funding issues) the National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC). You can access NGC archives located:https://www.ahrq.gov/professionals/clinicians-providers/guidelines-recommendations/archive.html. Quantitative research
Quantitative research is a structured way of gathering and analyzing information garnered
from different sources. It is used to quantify a problem by generating numerical data which can
be translated into statistics. To enhance professional practice, quantitative data is used to make
solid decisions. This is because quantitative research is known to produce factual and reliable
outcome data as objective theories are tested and the relationship among different variables is
measured. Usually, the outcome of quantitative data is deductive and therefore the determined
results can be relied upon. According to Esperón (2017), quantitative research identifies the deep
nature of realities, the system relations as well as the dynamic structures. This enhances
professionalism by understanding in details the nature of a problem. Furthermore, quantitative
research includes practical studies which are based on evidences. This enhances professional
practice by proving the effectiveness and efficiency of secure nursing interventions. Since
nursing professionals are always seeking for better evidence-based procedures to treat and
prevent diseases, quantitative research can be used to generalize findings thereby determining the
cause and effect of a problem.

this study includes experimental research where analysis was done so as to prove the hypothesis.
Causal comparative research was also used to determine how different variables change when
subjected to the same condition. In this tool, cause-effect equation was used to draw conclusion.
