The digital revolution: This hit the makers of computers first thereby driving IBM into a
restricting which cost the company over 20000 jobs. the power of the computing which is ever
cheaper has then found its ways into attacking other companies as well for it has given
opportunities to the small companies to make us of the computational resources which were in
the past owned by the big companies only (Kerzner and Kerzner, 2017). The digitization process
has also enhanced the trend toward larger-scale commercialization since goods that were the past
perceived as luxurious have become too cheap that they are found at the mass market prices.
Acceleration: Each of the forces of digitization, commoditization, globalization, social
mediaization and turbulence is an issue that is strategically decisive and is central to almost
everything in an organization that is has to not only understand but also plan for (Plieninger et
al., 2016).
Globalization: Through globalization, all the countries around the word have been made into one
economic system and via social media; a significant number of the nations are now taking part in
a mediated social media too. The impact and power of social media insinuates that it is of
importance to each company to have an understanding of the current as well as the future
implications of the worldwide trends regarding operations (Kerzner and Kerzner, 2017).
