Introduction
Ervin Laszlo is proposing a totally new theory on the physical reality in the book
Quantum Shift in the Global Brain. He writes the theory in the hope that it will help in solving
the present complications with which the society is going through. In the book, a theory on
physical reality is being proposed (Andrews & Andrews, 2013). Ervin Laszlo is hoping that the
theory will be helping in solving the present problems with which the society is going through.
The unscientific path has been chosen to connect the spiritual thoughts with modern science in
the most unsuccessful way (Beck, 2016). The two theories that are proposed by him have huge
rationality concerning the problems of the present scenario. The myths and the beliefs which he
has utilized in the book are the present reality of life rather than just belief’s and myths which are
being wrongly believed (Gidley, 2013). On understanding the negative influence of these wrong
beliefs, various global and national agencies are executing correct actions, which also tends to
involve the communities.
Purpose of the topic
In the book Quantum Shift in the Global Brain, Ervin Laszlo analyzes the higher chance
of what he describes as the quantum shift in the global brain. It is through these terms that he
tends to describe the global brain as the network in which the virtual energy and the information
are being progressed, which are created by six billion individuals on the planet who are
cooperating on various levels (Goodman, 2015). The message that is being portrayed through the
book is that the world is continually becoming unmanageable if we continue like we are doing
now instead of bringing about a change. However, the reality of unsustainability also tends to
harbor chances that can be used for making the world worthwhile. Changes are required to be

implemented soon instead of wasting more time. If we tend to waste more time, then it will
become impossible to change the situation and even maintain order and peace in the world
(Haven, Khrennikov & Khrennikov, 2013). Therefore, it is essential to analyze the book and
also make the necessary changes as soon as possible. Hence, it can be said that the book is
rightly chosen.
Description
In the book Quantum Shift in Global Brain, Ervin Laszlo tends to propose an innovative
theory that is based on the corporal reality.it is his hope that the theory that is being proposed by
him will help in solving the problems of the society. He analyzes the causes that lie behind the
unsustainability that has slinked inside our culture for which changes are required to be
implemented for survival (Heylighen, 2018). However, it is to be noted that the changes will be
on a macro scale. Society tends to accept the maximum standard of change, after which it tends
to remain to stagnate. The stage in which changes are required to be implemented starts when the
pressure to implement a change is built up. These situations tend to give origin to a new source
of ideas to solve the problems. It is after this situation; a forward leap is being taken into a new
reality that tends to take place (Kabanda, 2018). It is to be noted that it is not clear whether the
author of this book tends to feel that this pattern of change in the society is rhythmic or cyclic,
which tends to take place at the regular or irregular frame of the time. The dependence of the
macro shift is on the invention of new scientific standard or through the inventions to bring
outcome to the alteration which is required. It is in this context that he tends to propose two
theories, which are discussed below. According to the first theory that is being proposed by him,

which is the theory of the Cosmic plenum, a significant vacuum tends to progress outside of the
normal space and outside of the framework of time (Lord, Dinh, & Hoffman, 2015). Through
the non-local effects, all the measures and careful thought tends to get connected which tends to
form the foundation of the global brain. However, it is to be noted that it is very much difficult to
accept the argument that the something which tends to lie outside the framework of time and
space can have a great impact on the events and thoughts.it is based on this foundation, a
question that tends to come to the mind is about the actual existence or meaning of the global
brain. According to the theory of coherence, Ervin Laszlo tends to base his ethical values on the
rationality and consistency of the health of his body. (Makuei, 2017). In such a situation, the
variety of knowledge is absent. In the present situation, the variety tends to get limited to the
description of the light through the lasers. If this variety can be applied among living purposes, it
can become the foundation of a new systematic standard of well-being. The importance of
having a wide variety of knowledge of physical, emotional, and mental health is not very well
known by the author (Mayer-Schönberger & Cukier, 2013). Based on this, the question that
tends to come to our minds is whether it is really necessary to have a wide variety of knowledge.
It is being assumed wrongly that such a variety of knowledge tends to remain non- existent. The
example of this kind is that it is known by all that the emotional as well the mental condition of
the health tends to have a great impact on the physical health of the individual. According to
Ervin Laszlo, the substantial shift is itself considered as the macro shift. It is considered to be a
quick change within the important nature in connection to the majority of the global population
(Popper, 2013). To have a great impact, the population must get affected as well. Ervin Laszlo
wants a standard change in the environment of reality. The conclusion that can be derived from
this is that the way the majority of the population tends to think must be affected by the new

form of science (Pothos, & Busemeyer, 2013). Though this may not be very easy as the
capability of accepting is not the same in all the communities. It is no doubt that the problem or
the issue of the global world requires a global solution as well. When the solution is being
enforced on us from the top, it is something that is not acceptable. The breaking down of society
can be changed into breaking through society (Russell, 2015). It is based on this that Ervin
Laszlo tends to recommends five components through the four different stages, which are the
steps of a trigger, transformation, chaos, or the critical, breaking down, and the breakthrough. If
the breaking down can be changed into a breakthrough, it should be considered as the last step
that should be taken. This indicates that only when the first three steps are being successfully
implemented, then the last two steps must be applied or implemented. The difficulty that can be
faced here is that the period of transformation and the chaos might tend to last longer than what it
is being desired. It is being believed that Ervin Laszlo tends to live in the 19th century or even in
the mature period (Tarlacı & Pregnolato, 2016).
General Analysis
Nobody can tend to believe that nature is inexhaustible. The fact that is the availability
of the resources is very much less, and therefore it must be utilized accurately, and the
regeneration is being built in the process of modern management. colonization, conquest, and
consumption was very much predominant when the bigger section of the world was being
captured, colonized, and the wealth was being plundered for the consumption of the home
country. In the present scenario, most of the places in the world have become very independent.
Hence, this theory is considered not to be successful and very much invalid. There are many

there is something beyond death that tends to regenerate us with positivism. However, such
situations are very much few, and therefore, such situations cannot be dependent on for macro
shifts (Wendt, 2015). The only manner in which the frequency can be increased is by serving a
thoughtful blow to a huge quantity of people to go through a mass scale near the demise
familiarities and even come back with full of positivity. However, it is to be noted that such ideas
are very much farfetched, and therefore it must be ignored. Nine of his beliefs, which are

uniqueness, it is to be noted that it does not stand while achieving unity. The second belief is
that everything is considered to be reversible. It is being considered that whatever problem is
being faced are nothing but interlude’s after which one tends to go back to its normal stage. It is

being assumed that to solve the problem; the individuals must use the trial and the tested method

Ervin Laszlo wants to make the readers understand that a substantial shift is very much possible,
and therefore the problems cannot defer us. Though the problems tend to come and go, it should
be noted that the problems tend to have a great impact upon others like the exploitation of the
labor. The third belief is that order tends to call for hierarchy. The rules and regulations are
made by the people belonging to the top order of the management. However, it is noted that the
hierarchy from that of the domination of the males is very much harmful, and yet the business
has implemented non-hierarchical approaches. The administration is very much suffering and is
considered to be incompetent because of this as well. The third belief that is being considered
here is that efficiency is the key. Every person must be utilized here to its fullest irrespective of
what he or she tends to serve. According to Ervin Laszlo, efficiency will only be the leading
cause of employment, and it will only be useful for the rich. The fifth belief is that technology is
the solution to all problems. Here, Ervin Laszlo warns against the bad use of nuclear energy. The
sixth belief is that new things are always considered to be something which is very much better.
Ervin Laszlo here tends us to believe that new, on the other hand, can be very much expensive
and more complex. The old must be replaced with the new only after the new product is being
properly tested. The seventh belief is that the allegiance of an individual must be given to only
one individual (Riva et al., 2016). Ervin Laszlo here wants people to have a variety of allegiance
to reach across the globe. The eight belief is that the amount of money is relative to the
happiness of a person. The USA is utilizing data to indicate that the amount of money cannot
determine the happiness of a person. Greed tends to drive the individuals to earn money, it tends
to spoil the happiness and give rise to anger when the greed is not being satisfied. The fifth belief

is that it is not the responsibility of the individuals to think about their future (Pavlovich, 2019).

have influenced the ones who care about the future as well. The six myths which are considered
to be very much dangerous by Ervin Laszlo are as follows. The first dangerous myth is that
nature is inexhaustible. It is as per the myth of Ervin Laszlo that such myths tend to exist. The
second dangerous myth which tends to date back from the early modern age is that nature is like
that of a giant mechanism. The third dangerous myth is that life is considered to be a struggle
where survival is only possible for the one who is fittest. The fourth dangerous myth is that the
market tends to distribute the benefits. The fifth myth tends to indicate that it is better to
consume more. Consumption can only bring progress in the world. If consumption is not being
done, then the whole operating system, including the businesses and the government, will not
function. The sixth myth is that the economic ends tend to justify the means of the military
services (Gidley, 2013). The Romans administered a global empire which had many barbarian
tribes. To maintain peace among them, it was very much needed to exercise military power. In
this world, the assumption that the war is the procedure to gain financial and radical purposes is a
myth, and as per its social, human, and environmental significances, this myth is considered to
be one of the eldest myth. It is to be noted that whatever Ervin Laszlo considered as a myth is not
just myths but the realities of the world.
Recommendations
The recommendations which are being suggested by Ervin Laszlo are discussed as
below- the first recommendation is that one must live in a way that should not distract or affect
the others. The second recommendation would be to live in a way that teds to give admiration to
the right to life and even in the financial and social expansion of all people. The third

recommendation would be to live in ways that tend to protect the fundamental right to life as
well as of the environment, which is very much supportive. The fourth recommendation is to get
cheerfulness, freedom, and even completion in agreement with nature. The fourth
recommendation is that the government must relate to all the people successfully. The
enterprises must accept the effect that they tend to have on the markets and environments. The
media must give information that will be helping in the making of the decision. The ones who
are less privileged must be helped. The younger generation must be motivated to progress.
Collaboration must be made with the light-minded people to conserve, restore, and even
maintain the balance of the neighborhood.
Conclusion
From the analysis of the book, it can be said that the unscientific path has been chosen by
Ervin Laszlo to connect the transcendent opinions with the modern science ineffectively. His two
theories have debatable rationality due to various problems. The various myths and the beliefs
that he has discussed tend to be the actual realities of the world. On being able to see the negative
impact of such facts, the correct method is being implemented by the various nations and
international agencies. Actions must be taken immediately without wasting much of the time.
